Details

Having spoken to the Ranger Station in Bridgeport, it is his estimation that it is possible to go as far as Freemont Lake along the Walker River from Leavitt Meadows.

I am going, with my son, to test that theory. I am looking for upward of 4, for a total of 6, other experienced backpackers to go for a somewhat leisurely trip. Some factors tba, such as car pooling, exact departure time and the like.

8 am let's meet at Trailhead to Leavitt Meadows, off of Highway 108.

1. From Highway 395

2. Turn Highway 108 and go approximately six miles. The campground is on left hand side of highway.

If any stream crossings are too high or dangerous, I will not cross them with my son. Having said that, I have no way of knowing if any are what I would deem dangerous.

I plan on a more leisurely pace than I would by myself having my son along.

BEAR CANISTERS MANDATORY
