In an earlier trip this season we couldn’t make it all the way to Ten Lakes because of poor trail conditions (a sudden snow storm brought 10” of snow the night before the trip!). So this trip is to finish the job.
A quick weekend trip starting at Ten Lakes trailhead, off hwy 120. From the trailhead to the basin is about 7 miles.
Saturday: meet at the trailhead. Start hiking around noon to Ten Lakes. Camp for the night
Sunday: explore Ten Lakes basin. Hike back to the trailhead after a stop at Grant Lakes.
This is a relatively easy trip, but it has some steep climbs (elevation gain about 2000 ft). Bear canisters are required. Since it’s July, expect some bugs near water.
There are still 4 spots available on this trip (total of 6 people). If more than 4 people sign up, the usual lottery would apply.
