Organizers of Charity Poker Events

Hello Fundraising Organizer,

You are here seeking participants for your event, I want to clarify "who we are" in order to temper your expectations and avoid disappointment.

Charity organizers find us on the internet and think "Oh goody, look at all these poker players! They will surely want to play in my poker charity event!"

The reality is we are not purely "poker players", we are working professionals and families from all walks of life, poker is a hobby, --its our golf. To be honest, in our eyes as poker enthusiasts the typical game format in charity poker events is pretty terrible.

When our people participate in a fundraiser that involves a poker tournament, like your other guests, we are doing so to support the cause not to just to "play" in a poker tournament.

My advice... Sell the cause not the game! Helping the benefactor is where the true altruistic motivation and attendance occurs, not the event's "poker theme". Tell us and your potential attendees about the benefactor of your event.

We will gladly post your event on our website which will be seen by our entire membership, any of our organizers can do this. It will help your event to provide as much detail as possible about your event which includes cost, starting chips, rebuy costs, prizes, food, beverages, and any other features of your event. I suggest posting it at least a month in advance, if you just found us and your event is around the corner unfortunately the chances of picking up our people are probably not very good.

Please be aware that while we love the game of poker and often participate in poker themed fundraisers we might not rush to fill all your empty seats solely because it is a poker themed event.

Good Luck with your event,
Scotty Wayne
