Meet up and Social Time: 8:45 a.m.
Walk Begins: 9:00 a.m. (Call if you are running late; change your RSVP to NO if you change your mind. Thanks.)
Note: If this is your first time, and you have trouble finding Pelican Cove, call Sharon at[masked]-0980.
Walking Pelican Cove, you will discover one trail of many above the ocean of the gorgeous Palos Verdes Peninsula.
This is a an absolutely breath-taking walk along the cliffs of Palos Verdes and past Terrenea Resort (where Marineland was many years ago). It's a good walk, but no so strenuous that you will be exhausted at the end.
About 2/3 of the way through, we stop for coffee, drinks, snacks, etc. at the Sea Bean, a delightful spot on the Terranea Resort.
This is truly a wonderful walk to start the day and have as part of your week!
The Pelican Cove Parking Lot is 1200 feet to the west of the Terranea Way/Palos Verdes Drive South intersection. To access the lot traveling from San Pedro, first turn left into the Point Vicente Parking lot, turn around and exit the lot to the right. Go back along Palos Verdes Drive South to the next parking lot (Pelican Cove). From P.V. go past Point Vicente to the next lot. Once you find it the first time you'll be fine. Leave yourself some extra time to find the trail head which is located at the Pelican Cove Parking Lot on the Terranea side. Look for a statue of a Pelican at the trail head.
P.S. - We have been enjoying this walk every single walk for at least two years, and one of our greatest joys on the walk is seeing the marine life, and specifically the pelicans perched on the rocks at Pelican Cove and flying in formation along the gorgeous coastline. Let's remember that these pelicans, like so much marine life these days, need our help. Please think about adopting a pelican for $25. Here is the link:
