Tuesday Night Boardgames at Mad Doctor

Hey, we're Mad Doctor, technically Birmingham's only game store! We've been hosting this meetup for quite a while now. Every week I pick a game I want to play from the library, and we get a few people who bring games with them. If there's a game you're wanting to learn or that you hope to find players for, leave a comment and I'll try and make it happen.

Thanks,

Robert

It was pretty crowded this week with the double whammy of 2 RPG groups taking up the two back rooms and a big crowd from UAB being back in session. I don't think most of the UAB folks will come regularly, but there needs to be more coordination about getting tables set up and enough space for everyone to play- and by coordination, I don't mean the regular crowd finding games and places for a dozen new people to play.

Robert said the 2 RPG groups play every other week & alternate Tuesdays. They should get back on schedule next week, so that should help with the table space.

I'm new, and would like to come tonight if possible, but I would not be able to make it by 6. If someone comes in later than that, is it still possible to get in a game?

Usually yes, Marty, but you might have to be patient and wait until a game ends to get in on the next one.

Thanks, good to know. Not sure I will make it tonight, but if not, then I'll be there on a future game night.

Unfortunately it looks like I'm out this week. Sorry, would-be Seasons players.

I'll bring Tammany Hall (3-5p), Kemet (2-5p), Letters from Whitechapel (2-6p, but if that somehow gets drawn to the table I'll pass on the role of Jack), and maybe one or two more...

Woohoo!! Band practice is canceled this week, so I can play the full session.

Certainly, I can play that one.

I wouldn't mind trying Seasons if someone *coughMitchellcough* was willing to bring it.

I certainly won't be heartbroken if other games end up making it to the table instead of Seasons, but alls I'm saying is I'm calling a spot if Seasons hits the table. :)

That's if William doesn't want to play something else. I'm sure Melissa would play if there was a spot left.

Thanks for reminding me! I'll bring it. If there's not time to play it tomorrow night, you two can borrow it so you can try it out at your discretion.

Bring whatever you'd like to play and would be willing to teach. Several people in the group bring games from their collections, and MD has a library we can choose from, so there are always things to play even if you don't bring yours. There's no guarantee that your games will be played, so if you really want to play something, it's best to try to set something up beforehand (like the Seasons game this week).

I would play Seasons. I have played it a few times. Of course, this always depends on what else is going on.
