The Tonight Show with Jay Leno is the first late-night TV show I've heard of to do a segment on the Twin Cities because of the impending Republican National Convention. Though the segment isn't slated to air until September 2007, on Thursday comedian Mo Rocca will visit six Minneapolis and St. Paul neighborhoods (three in each city) to interview the locals about what our politico guests should see and do during the convention and how we feel about hosting this event.

You might want to brush up on your current events before wandering about Nicollet Mall, the Warehouse District, the Chain of Lakes, the State Capitol, Rice Park, or Xcel Energy Center, lest you get thrown into some Rocca version of "Jaywalking."

Rocca's preplanned kitsch factor will really kick into high gear when he interviews the mayors?Rybak while biking to work and Coleman while playing his bagpipes.
