Who is your favourite fictional detective?

Have to say Poirot, as I was addicted to Agatha Christie as a teenager.

In your opinion, which period of crime fiction writing is the most interesting?

Hmmm, I'm an Agatha Christie afficionado, but also partial to a bit of Wilkie Collins or Sherlock Holmes...I also ocassionally enjoy something more, I don't really have one favourite era...

I love a good mystery to unravel, so really like the idea of this reading group. Don't read as much detective fiction as I used to, but like the idea of getting back into the genre.
