Join us for a soggy paddle on the Wading River, from Speedwell to Evans Bridge. We will be meeting at Evans Bridge (the take out), loading up cars and shuttling boats/people up to Speedwell Bridge to launch. The shuttle is a short one on paved roads. We will paddle the 11.4 miles downstream to our cars, with a stop for lunch at Godfrey Bridge. The trip should take about 4-6 hours on the water, plus extra for the shuttles. The weather is going to be rainy and windy, so remember to dress in layers of synthetic clothing (no cotton, it stinks when it is cold and wet), and bring a full change of clothes in a dry bag with you in your boat.
This section of the Wading is narrow and twisty, and probably has trees we will have to climb over. Short plastic boats are recommended. As with all DVK paddles a PFD (life vest) must be worn.
Trip cancellations due to thunder/even higher winds/blizzard will be posted by 6:00am on the day of the paddle. Jason can be reached via cell phone at[masked]-7047.
Evans Bridge is on Rt. 563, about 3/4ths of a mile south of the split with Rt. 679. Parking area is on the east side of the road, north of the bridge.
