One might with a great deal of truth say that all governments exist to redistribute wealth, and most commonly from the ruled class to the ruling class. It is also true, however, that modern nation-states, particularly in the last 100 years, seem to redistribute wealth from almost everyone to almost everyone, in a perverse criminal mutual con game fueled by debt and money printing.
What does the average citizen get? Well not very much, but, everybody increasingly gets fat on low nutrition frankenfood, and everybody gets to watch gladiatorial combat in between the stupid commercials for shitty beer, until finally the entire system collapses, and the barbarians thankfully destroy what remains of a joke of a so-called civilization.
