Buddhist Philosophy 6:30pm w/Patrick Love Donation Join us for hot tea, dharma talk and Buddhist meditation! The practice of Buddhism has been around for over 2500 years and has helped countless people gain insight, wisdom and peace. Buddhism is a practice like yoga or learning to play music. If you practice the techniques and have the right understanding of those practices, then you will uncover that peace and light within you. It is a study of the mind and consciousness. This group is designed to be instructive and supportive of your personal journey toward liberation and enlightenment. We will mix each meeting with combination of Dharma discussion and meditation practice. These practices and teachings are not meant to compete with or replace anyone's belief system or practice and often only enhances a person's already existing beliefs and practices. Bring your own sitting pillow and/or yoga mat. Please arrive 15 minutes before class to sign in and get settled.
The Road to Self-Discovery w/Ivana 5pm $12 Join us to learn what are helpful ways to become the best version of yourself. In this series we will discuss what it takes to start the journey to discover your true self. Each week we will discuss a different topic on the "self". We will touch on self-esteem, self-confidence, self-respect, self-worth, self-appreciation, self-gratitude, self-acceptance, self-resilience, self-care, and self-love, because the most important person is YOU! Please arrive 15 minutes before class to sign in and get settled.
Mindfulness Matters w/Jocelyn 5pm $12 In these groups we will discuss different ways to incorporate mindfulness into your life. Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness of the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and sensations. Throughout these groups we will experiment with different exercises that provide guidelines on practicing mindfulness quickly in nearly any situation and aspect of your life. Please arrive 20 minutes before class to fill out intake paperwork.
8 Dimensions of Self Care w/Jillian 1pm $12 In these groups we will discuss self-care pertaining to 8 different areas of life. Practicing self-care helps produce positive feelings and can help improve our self-esteem and self-confidence, which trickles down into other areas of our lives. The 8 dimensions include emotional, environmental, physical, social, intellectual, spiritual, occupational and abundance. Self-care is a necessity for our well-being. Please arrive 20 minutes before class to fill out intake paperwork.
