Cinco de Mayo Drum Circle

  • May 5, 2010 · 6:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

On May 5th, 1862, Mexican forces won an unlikely victory over the French armies in the infamous Battle of Puebla. Here in the U.S., we celebrate this day as a connection to Mexican heritage and pride (and, of course, to drinking and partying).

This will be a drum circle/party, definitely potluck, and spirits are welcome. We'll be doing this drum circle at my apartment (in the back yard), we'll definitely have a bonfire (provided the weather holds up), and your friends and family are welcome. BRING A BLANKET OR FOLD-UP CHAIR... I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE!!

I really had a lot of fun with everyone... we didn't do that much drumming... more socializing and eating, but we built a fire (the first one in my backyard), and had good food, and HELLA DRINKS (my first time making margaritas), so it was all good.
