Prayers and Praises: A Reading and Discussion of the Psalms

Psalms is a collection of 150 prayers and praises written over a period of nearly 1,000 years. Well-known individuals like Moses and David contributed to the Psalms, but also lesser-known men (including several anonymous authors) can be read in this Holy Spirit-inspired literary work. Regardless of the author, each psalm guides us in relevant topics such as dependence on God, proper worship, righteous living, repentance, and even the proper response to depression and anxiety. Even today, these ancient writings speak to us in clear and life-changing ways.

Starting Monday, May 3, we will meet each week at the Hamburg-area Chick-fil-A to read and discuss the Psalms. Each meeting will be lead by one of several teachers who will present their thoughts on a specific Psalm and lead us in meaningful discussion. The format is designed to be friendly, warm, and low-key as to encourage group participation as we seek to apply the text to our everyday lives. All are welcome to attend this study and there is no limit on how many you can invite. Contact me with any questions and I look forward to seeing you each Monday morning at 7:00!

From Death to Life: A Study of Paul's Letter to the Ephesians

Ephesians is a remarkable book that reminds Christians of their spiritual condition before Christ, the spiritual blessings they have because of Christ, and the new lives they are to live in Christ. The teachings and lessons contained within Ephesians are powerful and a genuine response to them will bring lasting change and fellowship with Christ our Lord and Savior.

All are welcome to attend this study and there is no limit on how many you can invite. Each week, the meeting will be lead by a primary teacher who will walk us through the book. The format is designed to be friendly, warm, and low-key as to encourage group discussion and openness as we seek to apply the text to our everyday lives. Contact me with any questions and I look forward to seeing you each Monday night!

Repent and Live: A Study of The Minor Prophets

Chick-fil-A

The prophets are oftentimes regarded as difficult to understand and of little relevance to our lives. However, once a person becomes familiar with prophetic writing, the intended message and modern-day applications can clearly be perceived. The prophets were men chosen by God to carry His message to the peoples of the world. Through them, we learn about the seriousness of sin, the need for repentance, the mercy of God, and even about reconciliation through the Messiah, Jesus Christ. The prophets may have originally spoke to an ancient audience, but their message is just as relevant for us today.

Starting Wednesday, May 5, a group of men from our local congregation will meet each week at the Hamburg-area Chick-fil-A to read and discuss the minor prophets. Each meeting will be lead by one of two men who will present their thoughts on a specific prophetic book and lead us in meaningful discussion. The format is designed to be friendly, warm, and low-key as to encourage group participation as we seek to apply the text to our everyday lives. Contact me with any questions and I look forward to seeing each of you Wednesday morning at 7:00!

NOTE: This is an online only event.

Starting Saturday, May 1, we will embark on an 80-day reading through the Old Testament prophets. A copy of the plan that shows what chapters to read each day can be seen in the photos section of this event or I can email a PDF to you. On Saturday mornings (starting on 5/8) at 8:00 we will all Zoom in together, do that day's reading, and then collectively discuss and make applications from the previous week's chapters (the purple highlighted days on the reading plan indicate the days we will join as a group on Zoom). What an awesome way to start off May and a great way to spiritually grow as an individual or even as a family. So who's in?
