Tuesday: Mob of Joy

  • May 7, 2013 · 7:00 PM

First Tuesday eve of the month mobbing sockers

UPDATED!!! PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU SIGN UP

Where will you be mobbing?  Please remember to include your area of interest when you click on Count me in.

We hope to cover:

Strand - meet by McDonald's just to the left of Charing Cross train station (as you face it) on the Strand. A lot of people seem to like doing Strand, so where there are a large number attending, we'll split this into two groups and do Covent Garden/East Strand in one group and West Strand/Waterloo in the other.

Victoria - meeting by WHSmiths inside Victoria mainline station (The big WHSmith - check the maps for details...)

Old Street - meet inside Old Street tube in the subway by the payphones (at the bottom of the path to exits 1 and 2)

Hyde Park - Meet in Hyde Park tube station, just outside the barriers (and out of the way of commuters). This route does the subways then up past Green Park Tube and Piccadilly.

This page has some budget maps of the exact locations if you're confused.

Any suggestions for another venue where you know that there are people on the street?

We will have an experienced organiser/walker leading each group along a route in each of those areas and helping you break the ice with the people on the streets. It's not at all obligatory to bring anything other than yourselves (but if you happen to have any socks, food or drink handy or anything else that the people on the street may appreciate then they're always welcome)

You are welcome to suggest a venue for the post mobbing drink - the night before the mob I will let you all know the final arrangements and where you're at.

See you on Tuesday at or just before 7pm (or at the pub :) )

A great introduction to what this is all about. The other mobbers made me feel welcome and at ease. I look forward to the next walk :)

Hello! I've missed the rsvp deadline, but would still really like to join tonight if possible. It would be my first sockmob, and would get a write up on my blog... Is it OK for me to come?? Strand, Covent Garden end if possible.
