This lecture was given at Dr. McDougall's advanced study weekend. The title is, "Diet, Osteoporosis and the Broken Bone Business." About 65 percent of women living in the West are diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia and are told they need drugs. But the real cause of osteoporosis is the excess acid and protein content of the typical Western diet.
In a tour de force, Dr. McDougall exposes the machinations of the health care conglomerate and presents real solutions which work.
Before his presentation, enjoy a delicious vegan dinner designed by a certified Nutrition Consultant and graduate of Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition, Patricia Allen Koot, NE, NC. The dinner is totally vegan and totally health-supporting, and is a full-course meal including one of Patricia's famous sugar, oil, and baking powder free vegan cakes. And it is all you can eat. Bring a container and take some home.
Location is the Opera Plaza Community Room, 601 Van Ness, San Francisco. Take the elevator to the first floor, then security will key you down to the mezzanine for the event.
A fifteen dollar requested donation covers the all you can eat dinner plus the presentation by Dr. McDougall. The Nutritionist donates her time. Funds go toward facility rental, food, transport and other costs.
