Solstice Party

In the spirit of expanding the mission of The Greater Philadelphia Thinking Society we are holding a social event at one of the large rooms at the Ethical Society. This event will be GPTS's version of a "holiday" party so come expecting much mirth and merriment. But GPTS members could never just have fun, so we will also explore the solstice as important event in human history and culture. We will be setting up 4 high pub tables so that members can more freely socialize. A different aspect of the solstice issue will take place at each table, i.e impact on culture, religion, etc. Members will be able to move from table to table (standing not sitting) exploring different aspects of the issue while meeting new members and hopefully actually having fun, that is if they don't think too much :) We will be serving refreshments, and solstice punch ;)

Oh come on! It will be my first outing with this group too. I'm sure they don't bite, right? :)

you may be right but I just don't want to sound illiterate about cultures and human history.

This sounds great and would like to go, however my niece's concert with the reading symphony youth orchestra is the same night.
