The Human Side of Social Media Analytics and a New Metric for a Privacy Worried World
Jim Sterne (http://www.targeting.com/about/about-jim-sterne.html), Founder, eMetrics Summit (http://www.emetrics.org/) and Co-Founder and current Chairman, Digital Analytics Association Technology captures data, stores it, crunches it and reports the results. But the analysis of that data is a human endeavour.
Jim describes what it means to be a top notch analyst in a time when analytical prowess is a make-or-break career skill. This non-technical, non-mathematical session describes the role of the data detective rather than the data scientist and emphasizes the nature of enquiry, curiosity and communication. It's the short-course in how to become indispensable.
As a bonus, Jim offers up a brand new marketing metric to measure how good are you at getting customers to accept being watched, tracked, stalked, collected, scrutinized, accumulated, analyzed and popped into a segmented cubbyhole.
