Join 35 uppers for a triple option night at Martinis and IMAX that includes the 9pm showing of Africa's Elephant Kingdom, includes Salsa Music and free lessons for dancers in the crowd (not me), and a very interesting exhibit about Genghis Khan.
The Elephant Kingdom movie follows one elephant family particularly on their unforgettable safari past waterfalls, rivers and forests to the plains of Kenya. For any that have not experienced the 72' foot high IMAX screen, you are in for a large visual treat; those that have been already know.
'Khan at night' allows free entrance to the largest exhibit of 13th century artifacts ever assembled that highlight Genghis Khans world of conquest, diplomacy, innovation and destruction. Last entrance time to see the exhibit is 9:15pm.
The option to listen to music, dance, see the Genghis Khan exhibit or a bit of both; and end up at the fabulous movie at 9pm. While it is fine to be tardy to a suggested arrival time of 7pm, anytime before the movie is ok; but would like most members to show up before 8pm, so your host(s) can roam freely to see the exhibit as well as members attending.
If you do not eat prior to this event, expect to pay 10-15 dollars for their menu items. Martinis are8 dollars, wine-7, beer 6 bucks. The ticket for combined Martinis and IMAX movie is 12 dollars.
It is very important to please find the sign in table to have your name checked off the attendance list to not be counted as a NO SHOW. No shows tend to be high for this event because of people finding something else they would rather do on Friday evening. That is perfectly fine, but all I ask is to change your RSVP to NO, if you can not make it. Since I have experience no shows so often on this event, I will be thorough in noting these; which affects your attendance at future capped events. Part of this whole Friday night phenomenon means most or all of the waiting list is usually included before the event starts. Just watch for your name to be added-it usually happens.
