Once again I need to say this. While this is not a very hard hike, it is 7 miles and at 7000 feet elevation. Please know your abilities. I lead these hikes so that others can enjoy the beauty of the state, not to be a babysitter.
Sandy's Canyon is one of our favorite hikes.
Distance: 7+ miles
Elevation: 200+ Feet (a steep climb up to the point)
This is a nice hike, mostly flat, but with 2 short climbs. We start out on the rim of the canyon, then go down to the canyon floor. We walk through some nice green meadows, then climb up to Fisher Point for a view of the valley below.
When we come down we can continue up the canyon to some caves.

We will carpool from the Frys parking lot at 7, and meet at the traihead by 9:30.
Directions: Take I17 to Lake Mary Road. Go right on Lake Mary Road a little over 5 miles? till you see a sign for Vista Campground (sign on right, campground on left) drive through the campground to the trailhead.
Lake Mary Road is the last exit before the I40 interchange. There is a Circle K at the exit to stop at for Rest Rooms. The people at the Camp Ground do not like hikers, make sure not to speed through the Camp Ground.
Make sure to bring plenty of water and a nosh for the top of Fisher Point.
