This is an out and back hike, about 4 miles +/-, with and elevation change about 800 feet +/-.
Rattlesnakes, and other creatures capable of defending themselves, may be found throughout the desert. Pay attention to the ground in front of you and to where you place your feet and hands. Generally, we want to leave flora and fauna undisturbed.
This is a rocky, hilly trail that is uphill going, and downhill coming back. Good workout.
You can go at any pace you wish, but there is one junction in the trail (early on) that you want to take careful note of, so you don’t miss it coming back, in the dark, if you have chosen to come back alone.
Some hikers may be keeping a fairly fast pace.
