Why is sustainable living important to you?

I grew up on a farm and I have a deep love and respect for nature and preserving our planet. Also, I lost my home and much else as a result of the economy. I firmly believe it should not be such a struggle for everyone to have the opportunity to live in a nice home. "Affordable housing" should be redefined and not be the exception... And bigger isn't always better. The change begins with us. There are solutions and living smaller and greener is an important one. These changes in how we live need to begin with each one of us... NOW. We can do it if we do it together... One house at a time, one neighborhood... one state... one country... You get the point.

How involved do you want to be?... Passive member, plan on attending events, volunteering time, and/or hope to build your own home?

All of the above. I want to make a difference.

What do you hope to get out of this experience?

The satisfaction of knowing that my efforts had a positive affect on at least one person's life... But preferably the world. AND everything I can learn about sustainable building methods related to tiny & small housing.

What skills do you have to offer?

I'm a project manager, IT person, designer, photographer, amateur builder and a leader in the Small Home Movement. I have a knack for nurturing connections and making things happen. A few years ago, my passion for making a difference in housing options has become my life's work. (coming soon) As my grandmother used to say, once I get a "bee in my bonnet"... Well...I guess I caught a "Small House Bee"!

In 2012 I created this group, 2014 co-founded ASHAC, 2016 created "The Small Home Center LLC". I'm a project manager, designer and more that wants to make a difference via beautiful sustainable small homes and the ethos behind it. It's my passion.
