What you need to know about Android Instant Apps - Jamie Adkins
Android Instant Apps allow users to download and use the features of an Android app, without installing the entire application. In this talk well introduce what instant apps are and how they work, discuss some of the problems you'l face when building one, and show you can help your Android team build an instant app, even if you are not an Android Developer yourself!
Have Yourself a Matrix LED Christmas - Jo Balletti
Why we need more imposters - Costandino Dufort Moraites
There is a lot of dialogue around the prevalence of imposter syndrome in tech. Tech culture in teams needs to become more inclusive, but the answer is not for people to feel and act the same but rather for them to be comfortable being different. If an imposter is someone who doesn't obviously fit into the tech community as people see it today, I think we want more imposters rather than fewer.
This talk applies to everyone because I think just about everyone feels like an imposter or makes someone feel like an imposter, whether they realize it or not.
Note: We understand that some people have other commitments, and cannot spend the whole evening with us. Because of this we start early, try to run very close to time, and we do not take questions after the talks. This allows everyone to benefit from the main part of the evening, and then, if you are able, you can join us after for the social where hopefully some, or all, of the speakers will be on hand. We think this makes // TODO more inclusive, but if you think we can do better, do let us know.
