- Specifically, proposed securities token regulation in Japan


Masakazu Masujima, Partner at Mori Hamada & Matsumoto
Masujima-san provides M&A and corporate governance/regulatory consulting for financial institutions, and helps them accelerate their open innovation initiatives. Leveraging his career with a world renown Silicon Valley law firm, Masujima-san has been trying to create the collaborative value with both start-ups developing innovative business models and established companies aiming redefining their businesses with strategic alliance. Masujima-san also has an experience working with Financial Services Agency of Japan as compliance legal head of insurance division and deputy director at bank division. He is known as the most prominent and reliable lawyer within venture capitals/start-ups community in Japan. He was ranked in Chambers Asia Pacific 2017 as best lawyers in Japan at Insurance section. Masujima-san is also the Founder & President of FINOVATORS, and the Financial Innovation Business Conference (FIBC).

Adam Farthing, VP, Head of Asia at AiX
Adam Farthing has spent the bulk of his 20+ year career as market maker, mostly trading USDJPY and gold options, at a major sell-side institution. Recently he has joined AiX to build out their Asia franchise. Adam lives and works in Tokyo.
AiX is a FinTech start-up based in London which looks to modernize the role of the traditional inter-dealer broker. AiX has developed an AI-driven matching engine to simplify and speed up price quotation and trading in wholesale OTC markets. Traders communicate in natural language with the AiX chatbot, which handles hundreds of concurrent conversations, automates pre- and post-trade administration, and passes trade details directly to the settlement entity. AiX will launch its brokerage service for digital assets in June.
