Art (NGV), Dinner & Conversation (Women: young-at-heart)
Art (NGV), Dinner & Conversation (Women: young-at-heart)
If you’d enjoy a relaxed Sunday afternoon wandering through beautiful spaces, sharing thoughtful conversation, and ending the day over a lovely dinner — you’re warmly invited to join us. This is a women-only gathering designed to make connection feel **easy, unforced, and nourishing**, with art, movement, and shared experience doing the heavy lifting. ### Meet time & place **4:00pm – Meet inside the NGV, Great Hall** Please enter the **NGV (180 St Kilda Road, Melbourne)** and walk through **Federation Court**. We’ll meet in the **Great Hall**. (This meeting spot is easy to find once inside — see map/photo in the event images.) ### Gallery wander + conversation **4:00pm – 5:00pm** We’ll spend the afternoon **wandering a limited area of the NGV together**, moving at an easy pace and allowing conversations to unfold naturally as we explore. This is a relaxed, unstructured wander — there’s no rush and no expectation to see everything. The gallery provides a beautiful backdrop for: * Gentle conversation * Reflections sparked by art and design * Easy connections without small talk pressure As with other **Good Conversations Club** events, you’re welcome to arrive exactly as you are. I’ll have **conversation prompts available** that you’re welcome to use if you’d like — or not at all. They’re simply there to support ease, connection, and meaningful conversation if you want them. ### Walk to dinner The NGV closes at **5:00pm**, so we’ll meet out front, then take a **short walk (approx. 10 minutes)** together towards Flinders Street Station. ### Dinner **5:30pm – 7:00pm** **Chocolate Buddha** (very close to Flinders Street Station) Dinner is a chance to sit, slow down, and continue conversations over (shared?) food. You’re welcome to join for the gallery wander only, or both — dinner is optional but encouraged. ### Who this event is for This is a **women-only** event for those who are: * Young at heart and open-minded * Interested in art, culture, and meaningful conversation * Comfortable in mixed-age groups * Looking for connection without pressure or performance There’s no strict age range — you’ll likely meet women across different life stages who value presence, curiosity, and good conversation. (In general, ages of people attending our events have been around 25-50 years) ### Important notes * Entry to the NGV is free * Dinner is pay-your-own * Please arrive on time so we can begin together * Comfortable shoes recommended for walking This event is about **shared experience first**, followed by **nourishing conversation** — in beautiful surroundings, with ease.

### Looking for something more real than dating apps? Meet someone you actually click with. No apps. No Swiping! NOTE: THIS IS A TICKETED EVENT. LINK TO BUY BELOW 👇 . RSVP ON MEETUP DOESN’T GUARANTEE YOUR SPOT. This is a curated, in-person dating experience for singles who want **genuine connection**, not endless swiping or forced small talk. You’ll meet a small number of people through **intentional, personality-based matching**, so the conversations feel natural and the chemistry has room to build. This is not speed dating. This is not a loud mixer. Unlike speed dating, this experience isn’t about racing through conversations or meeting as many people as possible. It’s about meeting the *right* people, with enough time and structure for genuine connection to unfold. ### **How it works** 1. **Before the event** You’ll complete a short personality quiz (5–7 minutes). 2. **At the event** You’ll have a series of guided one-on-one conversations with thoughtfully matched men/women in a comfortable, hosted setting. 3. **After the event** You’ll privately submit your matches. Mutual matches receive each other’s contact details so you can take it forward naturally. **Spots are limited** to keep matches intentional. Early Valentine | Slow Dating | Confident Women & Established Men |39–59
**We’re back! 🚀** If you’re reading this, chances are you’re not just after small talk and swipes. We’re not products on a dating app. There are no algorithms here, just proper hellos and a bit of good old-fashioned eye contact. After some remodification, Slow Dating 2.0 is back after several requests! Thank you for your patience and support. It means a lot to us! 💞 If you never heard of us, no worries! We welcome new people and souls! 🐢 ### **💫 Who is this event for?** This session is thoughtfully curated for **singles aged 43–59**. We believe romance doesn’t belong to one age group — it evolves. With experience comes confidence, depth, emotional intelligence, and a clearer sense of what truly matters. This is dating for people who know themselves, value meaningful conversation, and are ready for connection that feels grounded and real. **GET YOUR TICKET HERE** 👉👉 👉**[YOUR TICKET](https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/prepare-for-valentine-slow-dating-age-43-59-collingwood-sunday-registration-1980803426370?aff=oddtdtcreator)** 👈👈👈 ### **Venue Partner: Paradise Alley** We’re taking over one of Melbourne’s most **romantically lit and character-filled bars**. Think: * Warm, low lighting * Intimate lounge seating and cosy corners * A relaxed, slightly sexy atmosphere where conversations linger * Even a pool table in the background — casual, playful, unpretentious Paradise Alley feels like the kind of place where time slows down, guards come down, and genuine connection feels natural — not forced. Perfect for a Slow Dating experience. ### **So how does it work?** At slow dating events, you will have **more time AND multiple chances** to build some more connections with the ones you are interested in. **🍹 You can claim your welcome drink when you arrive.** **🗣 One-on-one rotations** to spark conversations with your handpicked matches. 🎴 **Conversation cards are provided if you need.** **🤙Private matching system**—no awkward rejections on the spot :) You will be notified of your matches afterwards. ### **💞 What we focus on at Slow Dating** 👥 **Intimate experiences** — limited numbers, because quality matters more than quantity 🎟️ **Unrushed dating** — the pace is slow, but tickets tend to go fast 💬 **Real conversations** — no pressure, no performance, just presence If you’re ready to step away from the apps and into something more human, this might just be your kind of afternoon.

Improv Workshop
Improv Workshop
Come join local improv troupe, the ***Home Improv Mints***, as we run through some of the basics of short form improv. Wear clothes you can move around in. We will start at **7:15**. We will run until just after 9 pm. Bring yourself and a willingness to try new things - like (insert audience suggestion here)! We try a different topic each session to see if it changes who sees the announcement. There might not be bobwhite imitations, hyena butter, lava floors, trans livestock, thalidomide twinkies or inflatable turnips (all things that HAVE come up), but we can promise something *random*. But we encourage you to bring cookies. NOM NOM NOM! We only have so many slots available. **Please don't RSVP as a yes *until* you are certain.** We limit the class size so everyone gets a chance to play, and ask for RSVPs so we know how many outlines to print and cookies to bring. We understand things change sometimes. Please message us if things change and you can't make it, rather than being a No-Show. Multiple No-shows get you put on the naughty list and may get you ejected from the group. Please don't make us do that. Please donate - *running* a Meetup group ain't free folks. Suggested Donation is $10/session. And feel free to bring more cookies. Everybody likes cookies. Hope to see you then!
