**In a time of division and isolation, come be part of the community that's rebuilding the town square, one table at a time.** In BreadBreakers, we use the common space of the dining table to have conversations where neighbors can **hear, be heard, and know one another.** If you're hungry for good discourse and deeper community, join us for a Community Dinner in Reston and help blaze the trail to a healthier, more connected society and democracy. Here’s how it works: For just two hours, multiple tables of people set aside the need to "win" and instead focus on sharing, listening, and connecting. Guided by experienced table hosts, we'll tell our stories, try to understand each other, and practice being in community with those with different views or backgrounds. **At this dinner, participants will get to choose between three different topics, including some current events.** Topics could range from the political, to the spiritual, to the philosophical, to the off-the-wall - but no matter which table you choose to sit at, you can be sure it'll be like no dinner conversation you've had before! Join Nordic Culture and Language Exchange for a karaoke party where we’ll sing hits from popular artists from the Nordic countries as well as Nordic -Americans! Practice your Eurovision favorites or songs from Nordic singers/bands who have made the charts in the US like Zara Larsson and Roxette from Sweden, Lukas Graham and Mø from Denmark, Ylvis, Kygo, and a-ha from Norway, and Daði and Of Monsters and Men from Iceland. If you know any Finnish metal, bring it on! Of course, we’ll sing some ABBA too! We’ll be celebrating the 7-Year Anniversary of this Meetup Group, so feel free to dress in party/ABBA/Eurovision-inspired style! Learning a few songs in the Nordic languages ahead (or at least some lyrics/the chorus) is highly encouraged, but not required. The current plan is to meet at the Wok and Roll Karaoke rooms in Chinatown next to Capital One Stadium, but if their new karaoke club in Dupont Circle is open by 24 January, we’ll change to that venue (watch for email notifications).

Join our weekly walking meetup to have fun, maintain a healthy lifestyle, meet new people, and enjoy the weather! We meet Saturdays at 10am, halfway between the Reston *Container Store* and *Not Your Average Joes* (by the metal benches), leaving no later than 10:05. Every week, rain or shine, we start by walking along the Green Trail to reach Lake Anne Community Center. Once there, we pause for water/bio (often staying a few minutes extra from April-November, due to the local Farmer's Market), and then we circle Lake Anne and head back to our starting point. It's roughly 3-4 miles and takes about an hour and a half. Afterwards, some members will often head to *Not Your Average Joes* or another local restaurant for a quick drink/meal before tackling the day. This event is open to all ages and fitness levels. Dogs are welcome, and we recommend dressing for the weather (umbrella, water, snow shoes, hat, etc.) since we'll walk rain or shine. Also, feel free to bring a friend!
