Blackout Phone Free Hangout at Hush Harbor DC (Black Owned!)
Join Blackout as we visit Hush Harbor on DC's H Street Corridor as we have a night of convo, games, and retro vibes. It's a Black-owned cocktail bar focusing on interesting drinks and inspiring connections.
If you're not familiar with Hush Harbor, the concept is that it is a phone free cocktail bar. They put your phone in one of those cases but you can still access it in a pinch. More info: https://hushharbor.co/#info
Remember when we could hold conversations without needing to refer to cellphones? House phones? Numbers on napkins? Remembering people's names? Printing out MapQuest directions? We're going back to that time.
We'll have some conversational topics and games that we'll play as we get to know each other.
Hold your spot by sending $5 via CashApp ($Blackoutbaltimore). This'll go towards the Polaroid film--yep, it's a throwback kind of night. And, yes, I'm actually bringing a Polaroid for the group shots.
Can't wait to see you there!

AI is creating one of the biggest shifts in how we work, earn, compete, and build wealth â and this moment wonât last forever.
Right now, AI is helping people generate new income streams, automate hours of work, cut business costs, streamline operations, 10x productivity, and operate at a level that once required entire teams.
Yet most people are barely scratching the surface, using AI the same way they use Google â and missing out on life-changing opportunities.
This intro webinar is your starting point. Youâll learn how to begin mastering AI to elevate your 9â5 career, optimize your business, and create new income opportunities. Youâll also understand why AI is far more powerful than the casual everyday use you see online.
Afropolitan Cities is partnering with Dr. Iyanuoluwa Odebode, Ph.D, Founder & CEO of Wokkah, an expert in AI-powered decision-making and innovation. Iyanu teaches businesses and professionals how to use AI to save time, reduce costs, and unlock new revenue â and he will walk you through the exact foundations you need to start doing the same.
What Youâll Learn (Clear, Practical, Immediately Useful)
This webinar gives you a high-level roadmap to:
⢠A strong foundational understanding of what AI really is â and what it is not
⢠The secrets, techniques, and systems behind effective prompting (prompt engineering)
⢠How everyday people are turning AI from âjust promptsâ into income, client systems, and scalable operations
⢠How to leverage AI to 10x your productivity at work and in business
⢠How to monetize AI and create multiple income opportunities
⢠How simple AI systems can help you work better, smarter, and faster â while cutting significant operational costs
⢠Real case studies showing how AI is used today in both professional and business contexts
AI is now doing the work of assistants, analysts, editors, marketers, researchers, and strategists â all at once.
When you learn how to âspeakâ to AI properly through effective prompts, your possibilities multiply.

January book club
We will be discussing History Lessons by Zoe B. Wallbrook. Official RSVP in GroupMe! No mac
A Toast To Now
Hi ladies!!
January moves fast. Between new goals and a fresh starts to old routines, itâs easy to forget to pause and recognize what weâve already done. The things that are now easy, the challenges we have forgotten, and the wins we never really celebrated.
Let's close out January slowing down, clinking glasses, and saying out loud the things weâre proud of, declaring what we want more of this year, reflecting on what has started off rocky and maybe needs a little adjustment.
Think of it as a verbal vision board, setting intention in conversation. Itâs a night of reflection, laughter, and a little vulnerability.
Dress in something that you'd wear to an event meant to celebrate you; because that is what we are doing!
Let's toast to right now and new beginnings.
\*Please update your RSVP if plans change. I will confirm with everyone RSVP'd 48 hours prior.

House Concert in Rockville: Daniel Neihoff & Eryn Michel
**Daniel Neihoff** is an *emerging singer/songwriter from Paducah, KY*. He has been described as âone of the best storytelling songwriters in Nashville.â
Daniel grew up in a family of songwriters, with both his father and grandmother crafting melodies and lyrics. He wrote his first song at 8 years old, surrounded by a family fit for country songs â the old kind about struggle and lonesomeness, mistakes among enduring love. The melodies and legends were all around him in his family, and it all seeped in.
His accolades are impressive: he won the Kerrville New Folk Competition in 2019, was a 3-time finalist of Songwriter Serenade, placed 3rd in the Woody Guthrie songwriter contest, and won the Rocky Mountain Songwriters Contest in 2023. Neihoff has also been featured on PBS and received praise from Lori Walsh, host of In The Moment on SDPB, who said, âDaniel Neihoff, you are just what we need.â
**Eryn Michel**âs songwriting walks the tightrope between real-life mess and wild imaginingsâlike her life, youâll never be quite sure whether sheâs singing truth, fiction, or a generous splash of both, drawn from a rĂŠsumĂŠ that almost sounds made up: convoy gunner in Iraq, staffer in the Obama White House, phlebotomist, janitor, wedding planner, voice actor, and private security for a kingâs granddaughter.
Her songs have earned her the 2024 Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Grand Prize and a two American Songwriter lyric contest wins.
**Reserve your seat by paying Scott Moore at [Moore Music in the House](https://www.mooremusic.org/). Suggested in-person contribution is $30.00. All proceeds go to the artists.**

The cafe is 8 minutes away from our music venue. At Scott and Paula's house, I will be the tall woman with grey hair and a dark mask. I will ask Scott to reserve our seats together. **Please,** either let me know that you have not reserved a seat or you intend to not show up.
BreadBreakers Community Dinner: Dialogue Across Divides
**In a time of division and isolation, come be part of the community that's rebuilding the town square, one table at a time.**
In BreadBreakers, we use the common space of the dining table to have conversations where neighbors can **hear, be heard, and know one another.** If you're hungry for good discourse and deeper community, join us for a Community Dinner in Reston and help blaze the trail to a healthier, more connected society and democracy.
Hereâs how it works: For just two hours, multiple tables of people set aside the need to "win" and instead focus on sharing, listening, and connecting. Guided by experienced table hosts, we'll tell our stories, try to understand each other, and practice being in community with those with different views or backgrounds.
**At this dinner, participants will get to choose between three different topics, including some current events.** Topics could range from the political, to the spiritual, to the philosophical, to the off-the-wall - but no matter which table you choose to sit at, you can be sure it'll be like no dinner conversation you've had before! You can also **suggest a topic** by emailing us at BreadBreakersInfo@gmail.com.
Food will be provided for free. For those who wish to provide a donation to help fund BreadBreakers, you can [give here](https://pushpay.com/g/restorationrestonumc?fnd=pO6G-N7oO7FH7Mp1u-x6mA&fndv=Lock&r=No&lang=en&src=pcgl) or at the event.
We'll have vegetarian and gluten-free options available. If you have any additional dietary restrictions (Celiac Disease, vegan, etc.) please let us know at BreadBreakersInfo@gmail.com so that we can implement the appropriate food handling procedures.
**Join us, invite a friend, and be a part of the movement to mend our fractured society and normalize a better way of talking with one another.**
BreadBreakers, an initiative by [Restoration United Methodist Church](https://restorationreston.org/breadbreakers) in Reston, VA, is a religiously inclusive community. All faiths and all stripes are welcomed. Our leadership, volunteer team, and community include people who attend Restoration and people who don't.

Bitcoin Montgomery for Women and Friends
Join us for our first meetup! We will have a discussion on Fiat vs Bitcoin, a little bit of learning and discussions that are important to the group. This a social group so bring your questions and curiosity, prepared to listen and share. Too often, women are left out of the conversation while they prepare to live longer, care for more people and are the heart of any community. Wouldn't it be great if we could be more educated on ways to beat inflation, have more choices, and be prepared for the changes to come?
Please bring your questions, so that we can plan topics for future meet-ups.
