JOIN OUR NEW SOCIAL MAHJONGG LEAGUE for weekly game play based on the NMJL (American-style) Mahjongg rules — PLUS some exciting and fun extras, such as more robust games, a completely new new scoring system, and the addition of the MAD JOKER, which can be used for any tile — even pairs and singles! The season consists of 8 weeks of sessions (1x a week) on Wednesdays from January 7 through February 25, 2026 Each session consists of 4 games, some with special themes and/or hands. It is morning before school starts, and in the chaos, your job as a homeroom teacher is to figure out which three are missing. Open play for American Mahjong. We welcome players of all levels although we do not offer lessons. Players should have their own official 2025 American Mahjong League Card. We play in room 109 at the Greenbelt Community Center.

Everyone is encouraged to get vaccinated, but not required. I just got mine. I don't want to get any of my friends sick! I will, however, be screening for a standard set of COVID symptoms. If you are showing any symptoms that could make people nervous, please postpone coming to the meetup till you're over it. While sneezing is not a COVID symptom, I think folks would rather not risk getting even a cold right now, so again please don't show up if this is the case, even if you're sure it is just an allergy. On the other hand, no masks are required, although feel free if it'd make you more comfortable. General day of games! Whatever folks feel like playing. Bring your own or learn a new one! If you want to play a longer game, you might want to propose it on the meetup discussion to judge interest. I'll have snacks and soda on hand. Additional snacks or soda welcome. We usually order out for dinner and then continue on till 10pm. The games we usually play tend towards those requiring more thinking than typical family or party games and they are usually in the 2-4 hour range. Photos from past meet ups can give you a sense of them. We do sometimes play lighter games though.

This club meets every Friday evening in the Rockville United Church hall, with games starting at 7pm and play continuing until very late. Games are mostly heavy euros, with some 18xx and short format games. Arrival at or before 7pm is strongly recommended. Food and beverages are welcome, but no alcohol. A small, ($2) cash donation is welcome. The club has a curated 100 game library on-site, but most gamers bring their own games. Games played vary over time, but games like SETI, Ark Nova, Power Grid, City of the Big Shoulders, Dune Imperium, Mombasa, and Hansa Teutonica have seen recent play.

A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for 3rd- through 4th-level characters, playable in 2-3 hours. The Starfinder Society has suffered in their quest to explore the mysterious Wreck of the Returned—they’ve lost good agents to the Wreck’s defenses and clashed with a rising foe called the Functionary, who claims to serve a being at the heart of the Wreck itself and is to blame for numerous local abductions. Now, raiders have begun attacking the Society’s vehicle convoys, disrupting their supply chain and stealing valuable discoveries. But the Starfinders aren’t the only victim of these raiders—three other groups endure these attacks, all of whom are bent on exploring the Wreck of the Returned. Determined to put an end to these attacks, and suspecting the Functionary is to blame, First Seeker Sarmak dispatches a team of Starfinders to investigate the raiders and lure them into a trap. We will be playing two games of **Terra Mystica** with up to 8 players. All experience levels welcome. Expect the game teach to start promptly within the first 10 minutes. In **Terra Mystica** fourteen different factions live in seven different landscapes, each group is bound to its own home environment. To develop and grow they must terraform neighboring landscapes into their home environments in competition with the other groups. Each group has different special skills and abilities. There are also four religious cults in which you can progress. Different buildings allow players to develop different resources. Each group must also develop its terraforming skills and its skill with boats to use the rivers. **FOR BEGINNERS** If you've ever seen Korean movies or K-dramas, you may have seen some characters play with small red cards decorated with flowers and animals. Those cards are called "hwatu" or flower cards. The most popular game played with hwatu is "Go-Stop". Come to the inaugural meeting of Hwatu Hangout, and learn how to play this awesome game. It can take some time to orient yourself with the cards and rules, but once you do, there's no turning back. It's major fun. **FOR EXPERIENCED PLAYERS** No Tazza-style deck rigging or hand chopping. Games night is back! With our favorite local game store opening back up, Games night will come back starting Monday June 7th! We are an lgbt+ games group that’s been going for nearly 3 years now! We welcome anyone in the lgbt+ community to come play board games every Monday with our fun and chaotic crew! If you’re brand new to board gaming and looking to make some friends or if you love playing 4 hour space operas and are looking to make some rivals, we’re the group for you! We are an lgbt+ group that focuses on creating a safe lgbt+ community. Non-lgbt+ individuals are welcome when attending with an lgbt+ friend, family member, or partner. Huzzah hobbies currently follows cdc guidelines, where customers who are vaccinated are allowed to not wear masks indoors. With their current hours on Mondays, they are open until 9pm; if they change hours and remain open later, games night will continue until close.
