Let's warm up with a hike/walk close to Paris, along the beautiful banks of the **Marne River**, just **east of Paris**. This route is perfect for escaping the city without going far. The walk is **mostly flat** and easy to follow, making it ideal for a relaxed but **active day outdoors**. It’s a great opportunity to stay active, enjoy nature, and meet like-minded people. 🗺️ **Our trail:** https://mapy.com/s/godofamuja 📍 **Meeting Point** **Saturday, Jan 17, at 10:30AM** **Joinville-le-Pont RER A station** **– Sortie 1** To get there, take RER A from Chatelet les Halles (16 min traveling time from there) in the direction of Boissy-Saint-Léger. Usually, there is a RER A travelling in this direction every 20-25 min. 🎯 **Ending Point** We will finish at the same **Joinville-le-Pont RER A station**, around 15:30 - 16:00. From there, we have RER A back to Chatelet les Halles. 🥪 **Lunch** We’ll stop for lunch/snacks where we find a nice place, so please bring your own food and water. 📏 **Hike Details** * Distance: **\~18 km** * Elevation gain: **+100 m** * Duration: **\~5h** (including breaks and lunch) * Difficulty: I would say **easy towards moderate** – you should be comfortable walking 10–15 km in your day-to-day routine. * Language: **English** – ideal for expats and anglophones living in or visiting Paris. In each session, tables of 4 to 8 persons will be formed equally between foreigners and French (2/3 Foreigners and 2/3 French). In these sessions, there will be 15 minutes of French conversation followed by 15 minutes of English conversation. At the end of the 30 minutes, we’ll switch the tables and you’ll be placed on a new table with new persons (Hence, you’ll meet at least 9 to 12 different persons in an event) !
