**Note the address says SE but it should be SW** HSLC is excited to collaborate with October One Vineyard for a monthly Yappy Hour! To support our local animals, please bring a pet food donation and you’ll be entered into a raffle for free tastings and glasses! You can also purchase raffle tickets. Your monetary donations help cover much-needed medical expenses for homeless and at-risk animals. This event will be 5-8pm on the last Friday of every month at the October One Vineyard tasting shop in Downtown Leesburg. This event is free to the public, so stop by and raise a glass. HSLC will be on hand to answer questions and let you know about available animals. Let’s “cheer” up our local area animals in need!

Come on out and join us for a fun evening of conversation, laughs, friends (new and old), and delicious food. If you're looking for a chill, no-pressure event geared entirely toward meeting new furs in a low-key setting, look no further! Fursuiting is NOT allowed at this event, but tails and accessories are perfectly fine. These meets will be recurring every month at the IHOP in Fairfax. We might switch up locations in the future, but for now, this one seems to work great for us. We will begin to congregate at the benches out front around 6:30 PM, and heading inside at 7 PM. This series is a weekly meetup, with guest speakers from all of the major animals rights orgs. We’ll host non-profits such as Pro-Animal Future, International Council for Animal Welfare, DC Voters for Animals, The Humane League, Mercy for Animals and Direct Action Everywhere as well as local grassroots groups like the DC Coalition Against Foie Gras and sanctuaries. We’ll also have special sessions related to health, nutrition and mindfulness! We encourage anyone who is interested in helping animals to attend- no need to be vegan! Come learn about our rich variety of local activism. With protests, outreach, wheat-pasting, signature collecting, leafletting, lobbying, tabling etc. there’s something to match everyone’s comfort level and skill set. Coffee, bagels and community will be provided! Feel free to bring any extra treats to share (no animal products please.) DC Anime Club will be hosting Free Screening of Marvels Wonder Man on Friday January 30, 2026 at 7pm at the crescendo 8101a US-29, Falls Church, VA 22042 Marvel’s Wonder Man Struggling actors [Simon Williams](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_Williams_(Marvel_Cinematic_Universe) "Simon Williams (Marvel Cinematic Universe)") and [Trevor Slattery](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trevor_Slattery "Trevor Slattery") try to earn roles in the remake of the superhero film *Wonder Man*. We hope to see you there. Cosplay (Costume play) is encouraged as long as you don’t bring any prop weapons and keep the cosplay family friendly.
