About permaculture, agroforestry and effective action
Abstract:
I'm tired to see ground that could be used for heirloom turnips (they grow better in cold and you can hardly see them in shops, there are courgettes and tomatoes in winter and spring instead..) trees and bushes being used exclusively for grass instead.
Mushrooms can be grown easily and safely outdoors in wooden logs..
Some parks in several cities specially abroad but also in Czech Rep. and areas elsewhere seem to want to imitate those that were imitating Victorian times: lush huge lawns.
Do we all really like grandeur without a trace of food gardens, and because that's how it's done it has to be this way?
People would not take care and give continuity to small initiatives, many have been there done that. But isn't it the fault of the organization always? I think so. People like the idea of thinking outside of the box, [while being] inside the box.
That just doesn't really work very well.
So this is an invite, for each other to be able to know what might appeal to others in the framework of finding spaces to grow food to not need to rely so much on what one sees in the shops.
🌿🌿
Join us for a 2.5-hour walk in the Old Town of Prague!
Who can attend this meetup:
The tour is an introduction to Prague and is mainly for expats and visitors to our city but everybody who would like to join is invited. ***Important***, please also fill in the booking form on our [website](https://freewalkingtourprague.eu/en/schedule) if you are planning to come (otherwise we will not expect you).

End the tour at the riverside 5 minutes away from the Charles Bridge, from which you can continue the tour on your own (or again with us) towards Malá Strana or Prague Castle.
======
Meeting point: We will be standing by the Powder Tower at the side of the Namestí Republiky square with a green umbrella in hand :)
Map: https://goo.gl/maps/tzqKpZ2945S2
Price: there is no fixed price, you will be able to decide yourself how much you value the tour. If you don't know how much is best (and can afford it) we recommend 200Kč, but it really depends on you how much you contribute.
Join us also on our [Facebook profile](https://www.facebook.com/freewalkingtoursprague/) :) and if you are travelling to other cities check out our friends at the [Free Tour Community website](https://freetourcommunity.com/).
For any questions, please contact us at info@freewalkingtourprague.eu. Unfortunately, the meetup application does not always send us phone notifications.
Reminder - only people who booked on our [official free walking tour website](https://freewalkingtourprague.eu/en/schedule) can join the tour and if the tour shows fully booked on the website it means there are no free spots. The meetup list doesn't count in this case.
We look forward to meeting you,

This is for anyone wanting feedback! We mostly focus on novels and longer works, but short stories are welcome, as well. You can submit anything you want feedback on in any genre. Current word limit for submissions is 4,000 words. Send your submissions by 13:30 the Thursday before the meeting (or we have a grace period during which you can submit a lower limit of 2,500 words if you submit by midnight Thursday evening). Also, if you don't have time to read through everyone's submissions, still join the meeting! We know that busy schedules don't always make finding reading time easy.
To submit, use the Dropbox folder. If you don't have access to it, send sonyalakadosch@yahoo.com your e-mail address so I can add you.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there! My number in case of any confusion the day of the meeting is 737 118 530 - or on Facebook: Sonya Lano (https://www.facebook.com/sonya.lano)
DROPBOX INFO:
* add new submissions for the next meeting in the " submissions" folder for the meeting date. Put your name at the beginning of the file name (for example: "Sonya Somewhere in the Dark")
* When providing written feedback (not required, but deeply welcome), save the file as a separate document on your device, then mark your changes/ feedback in the saved file. After you're finished, put the file in the "Feedback" folder under the folder for the meeting date and then under the person the feedback is for (e.g. "For Sonya").
* The submissions folder will be replaced within a week after the meeting has taken place. Feedback will be deleted within 2 months after the meeting, so if you need it longer than that, make sure to copy it to your own disk.

The afternoon session starts at 2:00 pm. You're welcome to join both sessions or just one. Please come as close to 9:00 as you can if you come for the morning session. If you come to the afternoon session, we are usually back by about a quarter to 2:00.

Cool cafe just south of the historic district in Leesburg. Their food menu offers options that stray from the norm. Friendly staff and good music compliment the vibe here, where you can get the standard espresso drinks and enjoy some (much needed?) downtime. There's dedicated parking, and we shouldn't have trouble finding seating. Come out and, if you like, take a walk through downtown Leesburg afterwards.

Shake & Bops
Personally, I think this is the best kept secret in Leesburg. During the week, the owner rents out her cafe for private events, but on the weekends, it’s a cozy botanical cafe where you can get a beautiful plant to bring home after a good convo over a latte. In warmer weather, there’s a hidden patio in the back, where you can enjoy some tree-shaded privacy. Limited pastries and seating, but plenty of parking in the town garage across the street. Please join me, and add this to your itinerary next time you’re in Leesburg.
