Intermediate Plus Improv Course On Stage! with Rutger Pull
Are you ready to step fully into the spotlight and deepen your presence on stage? The Intermediate Plus course On Stage! is designed for improvisers who already feel at home performing and want to sharpen their theatrical instincts, storytelling skills, and connection with an audience.
In this course, you will move beyond simply playing games and focus on how scenes really work. You will explore how to build stronger characters, clearer relationships, and emotionally grounded moments that feel believable and engaging. Short form games are treated with more intention and depth, allowing you to discover how structure, commitment, and acting choices elevate even the simplest scenes.
Over the weeks, you will work with a wide range of formats, including open scenes with no fixed structure. You will learn how to trust yourself and your fellow players when there is no clear roadmap, and how to let stories emerge naturally. There is also strong attention on audience interaction, from confidently asking for suggestions to clearly presenting games and formats so the audience feels included and invested.
This course places extra emphasis on stage presence and performance readiness. You will receive more detailed feedback from the trainer, helping you fine-tune your choices and grow as a performer. Together as a group, you will prepare for a public show, with additional performance opportunities where possible.
This course is ideal if you want to go beyond quick laughs and create scenes that feel rich, human, and memorable.
#### Who should sign up for this?
This course is for intermediate and advanced players. Ideally, you have completed two beginner courses and at least one intermediate course, including performing in shows. You feel comfortable on stage and are motivated to challenge yourself further.

#### About the teacher
Rutger Pull specialises in short-form improv and Dutch Theatresports. He has a sharp eye for what a scene needs in order to work and excels at teaching players how to recognise and support that. His feedback style is positive, clear, and precise, helping players grow while staying playful and confident.
Rutger began improvising during his university years in Enschede and has been performing for many years with Iets Anders in Utrecht. His classes combine structure, insight, and enjoyment, creating a focused yet relaxed learning environment.

Real Estate #1: Kasteel Groeneveld – Architecture and Life in the 18th Century
**Real Estate** is a new series dedicated to exploring villas, estates, and remarkable buildings across the Netherlands — places that are often overlooked, not because they lack beauty or significance, but because they still exist quietly within the fabric of everyday life.
The first event of the series takes us to **Kasteel Groeneveld**, an elegant 18th-century country estate in Baarn with a distinctly international character. Built as a buitenplaats for the ruling elite, Groeneveld offers a rare opportunity to explore how architecture, landscape, art, and daily life were once woven together.
During our visit, we will explore both the **castle itself** and its vast **130-hectare estate**, discovering how regents lived, how the gardens and kitchen plots functioned, and how nature and culture were carefully shaped to coexist. The park is full of quiet details and unexpected corners that reveal a different perspective on Dutch history and landscape design.
This is not a rushed visit or a checklist of highlights, but a slow exploration of a place designed to be experienced through movement, space, and time.
### Practical information
* **Meeting point:** 13:00 at bus stop *Drakenburgerweg*, Baarn
* We will walk together from there to the estate and begin the exploration
* Comfortable shoes are recommended due to the size of the park
### After the visit
After exploring the estate, we will stop at **Grand Café Groeneveld**, located on the grounds of the castle. The café offers a small but interesting selection of beers from local microbreweries such as **Swarte Os** and **Gooische**, providing a relaxed moment to reflect and exchange impressions after the walk.
**Real Estate** is about discovering places that quietly shape the cultural landscape of the Netherlands — buildings and estates that tell stories not through spectacle, but through presence.

Game Dev Working Session (Tysons-Pimmit VA Library Conference Room)
**Location**: Tysons-Pimmit Regional Library (Virginia) Conference Room
A game development **Working Session** involves 3 key parts:
1. Tell people what you're going to do
2. Actually do stuff
3. Show people what you did
That's what we'll be doing for this meeting. We'll briefly tell each other what we're going to do, then work on our projects, then at around 5:30 wrap up to show each other what we did and chat for a bit.
You don't have to stay the whole time, so feel free to drop in and out as you have time.
All game development skill levels welcome. Whether you're bringing a game you're trying to ship in a month, or you're just planning on following some tutorials or trying out a new tool to improve your skills, use this time to make progress.
Working sessions also train you to think about the scope of your work: pick a chunk of work that you can complete in the time that we have. That way you can end the working session with a feeling of accomplishment!
**What to bring**: Laptop, Charger, maybe a power strip if you have one handy, any other game development tools you need. Try to download any software you need before the working session. There is Wifi at this location, but it may be slow if you have to download any large files.

Note: This is not a drop-off event. Please ensure children have a parent or guardian joining in on the fun.
Board Games at Aslin Beer Company (Izzi)
Come out to a evening filled with fun board games at Aslin Beer Company in Herndon! We play a variety of games, including strategy, co-op, and party games! Always welcoming to people who are brand new to the hobby to those who have been playing for years!
We will be meeting in the Izzi building (not the main taproom), as there is more table space there and is right next to where you can get food and drinks!
There isn't a hard cap on attendees per say, but we would prefer that you sign up in advance so we have a rough head count as to whom to expect! Can't wait to see you all there!
Fairfax Home Board Game Fun!
This will be a fun night of board games hosted at our house! Feel free to bring some games if you'd like. No experience necessary, I will be happy to teach any and all games. Click [HERE ](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1s-kHTgssAccloaJENey7_Xy_uT-AqyjTJYVEp88zis8/edit#gid=0)to see my games library.
Below are some important logistical details.
* Arrive on time! - I will typically wait about 15 minutes after to begin playing. If you come much later than that games will be in progress and there is a high probability you won't be able to play a game that night as we usually only run two to three tables and often only play one game per table per night.
* Ring the doorbell if the door is not open. I can't hear anyone knocking on the door as we are in the basement. You can also send me a message on Meet up if you would prefer for me to let you in.
* If you would like to bring a game to the group that you want to play, please post the game along with a link to a tutorial in the event chat so people can prep to play if they plan on playing too. Also arrive 10-15 minutes early so you can set your game up and be prepared to teach the game.
