⢠Let's keep things respectful. Our group has a diverse range of members and we get along great! This is because we accept one another, avoid insensitive comments, try to keep swearing to a minimum, and steer clear of gossip and mindless venting.
⢠Please be punctual. Our hosts will check the Meetup page and post their location upon arrival before redirecting their attention to the people present. If you are late (more than 5 min), donāt expect to be able to reach them as they may not check their phone. Please allow enough time for travel and parking. (On that note, we don't organise carpooling because of various liability issues.)
⢠If you say you're going to come, then please actually come. Many of our events end up waitlisted so if you claim a spot and don't show up, then someone else might miss out. Attendees who don't show up (or cancel their RSVP within 12 hours of the event) will be flagged as "no-shows". Repeat "no-showers" will be banned from the group to make space for more reliable attendees.
⢠We want to keep all our members safe and healthy so if you are unwell, then please stay home. If you need to cancel within the 12 hour "no show" window, please send a courtesy message to the event host.
⢠Please don't come if you are just looking to hit people up for your own agenda. Our members are so much more than followers for your Instagram account, customers for your Herbalife business, or people for your Forex empire. In our community, we are about adding value to one another. If you are just coming with a self-serving agenda, then we aren't your crowd.
⢠And finally, this isn't a great group for people who like wallowing in life's problems. We choose positivity and gratitude, so bring some with you!

"Good Vibrancy" Morning Practice (Mindful Movement/Breath-work in the Park)
Good Vibrancy is a simple 45-minute routine for universal love based on the world's great spiritual traditions - adapted to optimise for freedom, abundance and prosperity.
It is based on the unique personal practice I have developed doing approximately 1,000 hours of self-directed meditation in recent years (and many more hours of contemplation).
\*\*\*\*\*
**7.30am: Good Vibrancy (45-min)**
The morning routine is done standing up and is a sequence of 6 parts:
**1\. Spirit Breathing**
\- 5 minutes of moving breath\-work for inspiration
\- Balance yin\-yang\, asking\-receiving
**2\. Active Sensation**
\- 10 minutes of mindful movement for grace
\- Develop effortless confidence and presence
**3\. Heart Invocation**
\- 10 minutes of compassion and gratitude \(\+ optional prayer\)
\- Open your heart to giving generously and appreciating what you have
**4\. Attentive Release**
\- 10 minutes of standing meditation with letting go
\- Let your mind settle\, grounding itself in a neutral posture
**5\. Life Visualisation**
\- 5\-10 minutes visualising the past \(story\) and future \(script\)
\- Feel that your past is in fact perfect just as it was and your destined success is drawing you effortlessly in closer each day
**6\. Energy Sublimation**
\- 5\-10 minutes of energy\-work
\- Invoke divine inspiration and connect with your inner king/queen
\*\*\*\*\*
**8.15am: Quick Coffee/Breakfast at KereKere Green (optional)**
At around 8.15am we will finish the practice.
Part of the reason for meeting in-real-life in a park as a group is to meet other people and get off the computer screens etc!
That's why we invite people to have a quick 15-min coffee and chat at the nearby cafe (KereKere Green).
\*\*\*\*\*
Our Melbourne community connects in person to do the practice and have brunch on the weekend...
\- South Melbourne beach on Saturdays 10am
\- Yarra Bend forest on Sundays 10am

Vision Boarding: fun new year's goal setting workshop
## Neurospicy Vision Boarding āØ
**Create a visual reminder of the life you want to build.**
This is a relaxed session where weāll spend time creating **vision boards** together.
A **vision board** is a large visual collage that represents how you want your life to look and feel. People usually use images and words from magazines, but drawing, writing, and doodling are just as welcome.
The goal isnāt perfection.
Itās to create something you can **take home and put somewhere visible**. A reminder of what youāre aiming toward, especially on days when motivation is low.
The light woo bit:
Seeing your intentions regularly helps keep them top-of-mind and easier to act on. Not magic. Just attention doing its thing.
***
### What Happens (High Level)
1. Short welcome and explanation of what a vision board is
2. Open time to create your board
3. Plenty of space to chat, body-double, or work quietly
4. You head home with your board and decide where it lives
No presentations. No step-by-step facilitation. Sharing is optional.
***
### How People Usually Make Vision Boards
Traditionally, people:
* Cut images and words out of magazines
* Stick them onto a large sheet of paper
* Arrange things until it āfeels rightā
You can also:
* Draw
* Write phrases or keywords
* Doodle badly (genuinely fine)
* Mix all of the above
Thereās no right way. If it makes sense to you, itās working.
***
### š When & Where
**š Sandringham Library**
**š 1.30pm ā 3.30pm**
Stay for the whole session or drop in for part of it.
***
### Whatās Provided
* A3 paper
* A small selection of magazines
* A few pens and pencils (but not many so please BYO)
***
### š What to Bring (Optional but Encouraged)
If you want more choice or personal relevance:
* **Scissors** (we only have 2 sets)
* Magazines or printed images/quotes
(You can print cheaply at the library.)
* Your favourite pens or markers
* Snacks or drinks that help you focus
Itās also fine to bring nothing and just use whatās there but you might just have 1-2 pens available.
***
### š§© Who This Is For
* Neurodivergent folks (ADHD, Autistic, AuDHD, self-identified welcome)
* People who think better visually
* Anyone who benefits from body-doubling
* Folks who want inspiration *and* momentum
No creative skills or clear goals required.
***
### āFAQs
**How is this different from SMART goals?**
Vision boarding is about direction and motivation.
SMART goals are about structure and execution.
Many people use a vision board first, then translate parts of it into SMART goals later.
**What do I do after I finish my vision board?**
Take it home and put it somewhere youāll see it regularly. Over time, you can:
* Notice which parts still resonate
* Turn specific elements into goals or habits
* Update or remake it when things change
**Do I need to know what I want before coming?**
No. The process often helps clarify that.
**Do I have to talk or share my board?**
No. Chatting and sharing are optional.
**Will my visions come true?**
Only if you know *the secret* (which is that dreams without action stay dreams).
**Is the space accessible?**
Sandringham Library is accessible. Message ahead if you want to check anything specific.

What does patriotism mean to you? - Braver Angels Fairfax Monthly Meeting
As we move into 2026, we invite you to join us in renewing a form of political participation that has come to seem almost quaint: practicing citizenship by making strong connections and strengthening our communities. Over the past few decades, weāve allowed our communities to shrink, our outlooks to sour and our politics to become toxic.
Weāre guessing you are reading this now because you want something different and better for yourselves, your families and your communities.
Braver Angels provides the infrastructure and tactics and tools to convene and collaborate across the political spectrum. With our sister Alliances in the āDMVā area, the Fairfax County Alliance is creating a schedule of events for the coming year, some of which will relate to our nationās birthday.
**Weāll kick off 2026 with a simple discussion of a complex topic: What does patriotism mean to you? And what about our 250th year as a nation will you contemplate and celebrate?** Join us on January 13th at 7 PM at the [McLean Governmental Center](https://braverangels.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=eb070968609f8aecc37a46472&id=1181632331&e=500efeae3d); doors open at 6:30 PM. We will have light refreshments.
We have pulled together [various resources](https://braverangels.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=eb070968609f8aecc37a46472&id=51517eb8d2&e=500efeae3d) to get your brains moving in different directions. Some of these are ānewsyā, some informative, some lean right or left and some are just opinions. It is not a comprehensive list by any means but merely designed to start your thinking about your perspective and otherās. We look forward to hearing about your own points of reference.
Comparing different eras is instructive; the meaning of patriotism changes depending on time and place. Have your views changed over time and place?
How do you envision at the future of the United States? How do we embrace the whole of our history? John Woods, Braver Angelsā National Ambassador, has captured these thoughts well in [his latest message](https://braverangels.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=eb070968609f8aecc37a46472&id=3b2e9511c9&e=500efeae3d).
*Scroll down John Woodās email for a range of online events you can join.*
Our future is shaped by imagining what can be and putting aside our presumptions of each other. We look forward to seeing you!
\* \* \* \* \*
**Braver Angels holds workshops, debates, and public presentations designed to bridge the political divide we are experiencing in our country.** Our events help conservatives, liberals, and independents get past stereotypes and have civil conversations about current issues, helping open the way to productive problem-solving, mutual respect and understanding.
Meetings and events are free and require no commitments. Just bring your willingness to listen, learn, and participate with civility, without judgment. Please read more about The Braver Angels Way [here](https://braverangels.org/our-mission/).
Healthy Mind, Healthy Body with BK Shila Sanghani (Yogic Breathing & Stretching)

From this heightened state of awareness, the mind becomes clearer, the body more relaxed, and the spirit more expansive.
In this **weekly session**, youāll be guided through simple yogic breathing practices and light stretching exercises that refresh the body, calm the mind, and uplift the heart. These techniques are accessible for all levels and offer a beautiful way to reset and recharge.
BK Shila Sanghani, a certified yoga instructor based in the Chicago metro area, brings years of experience facilitating workshops, national retreats, and collaborative programs with medical professionals.
