Valentines Special - Connection: Mindful Movement & Drawing (DE/ENG) 90 Min.
Connect with someone special (a partner, best friend, or simply yourself) in our special edition of **[Connection: Mindful Movement and Drawing](https://www.juancarlosrosacasasola.com/workshops/connection).** Whether you come alone or with someone close, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore self-awareness, relationships, and identity through creative and sensory exploration.
**What to Expect:** A combination of Tai Chi/Qigong-inspired exercises, intuitive gentle movement meditation, and experimental portrait drawing. This immersive experience invites you to deepen your connection with your own body and reflect on how we see ourselves and others. In a supportive and inclusive space, participants will explore both individual and shared perspectives, cultivating empathy, introspection, and meaningful connections.
**Body awareness and shared space:** We will start with a short Tai Chi/Chigong session to focus on our personal body awareness and space awareness, followed by mindful movement and shared group exercises.
**Whispering presence and partner portraits:** Through meditation, reflect on where or when you feel most connected, whether with yourself or with your special one. You’ll then take turns drawing experimental portraits of one another, inspired by this introspection.
**Life-size experimental portraits:** How do you see yourself, and how do others see you? What's our ideal self? If you come with someone, you’ll explore these questions together by creating life-size portraits that reflect your bond. If you come alone, you’ll dive deeper into your self-perception, creating a portrait that embodies the several dimensions of your self-awareness.
Whether you're looking to strengthen a romantic relationship, deepen a friendship, or simply enjoy a creative day by your self, this Valentine's Day edition workshop offers a unique opportunity to celebrate love, creativity and self-discovery in a supportive and inclusive environment.
**All Levels Welcome.** No prior knowledge of drawing or movement techniques is required - the focus is on personal discovery and shared experience, not technique.
**What to Bring:**
Comfortable clothes for gentle movement
**Drop-in €18.** Book this session like a regular class via the Dharma Studios app or via [Urban Sports Club](https://urbansportsclub.com/de/venues/dharma-studios-berlin).

Breathe Free - Consious Breathwork Session in Berlin
\#\#\# Was ist Breathwork?
Conscious Breathwork bedeutet bewusstes atmen.
Was mich jedoch am meisten bewegt:
Mich begeistert alles, was Dich mehr bei Dir selbst ankommen lässt, Dich mit Deiner Lebendigkeit und vor allem Deinem Herzen verbindet!
\#\#\# Bitte mitbringen:
– Yogamatte oder andere Unterlage (z.B Isomatte), damit Du es schön gemütlich hast
– Lockere, angenehme Kleidung
– Alles andere, was Dich noch wohlfühlen lässt.
Decken, Wasser und Snacks gibt es vor Ort!

Gentle Flow & Sound Bath
This nourishing 60-minute session blends a gentle, feel-good yoga flow with immersive sound healing to help you move, breathe, and soften back into yourself.
We begin with a slow, intuitive flow designed to release tension, awaken the body, and create a sense of ease and fluidity. Movements are accessible and adaptable, focusing on grounding, opening the heart, and reconnecting to natural rhythm rather than pushing or striving. Breath awareness guides each transition, allowing the practice to feel both energizing and calming.
As the body settles, the session gradually transitions into a deeply restful sound journey. Using instruments such as singing bowls, chimes and voice gently wash through the nervous system, supporting relaxation, emotional release, and creative flow. You're invited to rest, receive, and simply be.
This class is ideal if you're seeking:
* A gentle yet uplifting movement practice
* Stress relief and nervous system reset
* A sense of grounding, creativity, and embodied calm
* A mindful experience that blends movement, sound, and presence
No prior yoga or sound healing experience is needed. Come as you are - curious, tired, inspired, or simply in need of a pause.
✨ Move. Feel. Rest. Reset. ✨

Radical Empathy – Queer Storytelling for Connection
**Radical Empathy – Queer Storytelling for Connection**
host by **Neo Seefried**
guest: **Sarj Lynch**
event for **LGBTQIA+**
**[Free event with registration](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/radical-empathy/w07-2026)**
Conflict is everywhere: in our inner lives, relationships, workplaces, communities. Instead of seeing it as rupture or failure, Radical Empathy explores how exchange can transform conflict into queer creativity, resilience, and solidarity.
This intimate closed group of 25–30 queer participants will explore how storytelling can hold, transform, and reimagine conflict – personal and collective. We will create a space where queer voices meet – not to erase differences, but to live them and to seek new forms of connection.
**Calling in Care When Harm Happens**
In this session, we’ll explore some of the ways that our bodies react in moments of rupture, as well as strategies for how we can activate our values to guide our responses when the going gets tough . We’ll learn a simple care protocol that can be applied when painful moments arise in our relationships — whether we are the one experiencing harm, perpetuating it, or witnessing it (or, as so often happens, some combination of the three).
**Guest facilitator for this session is Sarj Lynch**, facilitator, community care organizer and co-initiator of aequa. **Sarj Lynch** (they) is a very curious facilitator and community care organizer based in Berlin. They are co-initiator of aequa (2017), aequa Workshops Collective (2020), and Berlin Collective Action e.V. (2020). Together with Bryony Beynon, they run Big Beef and Beyond — an ongoing series of trainings on transformative approaches to tending to harm in our communities, which focuses especially on conflict, harm and abuse in collective, cultural and social movement and organizing work.
**General information**
**Participant**: this workshop series is open to LGBTQIA+ people, with particular encouragement for those holding multiple marginalizations.
**Language**: Depending on the group’s needs, sessions will be held in German and/or English.
**Cost**: Free of charge, registration required.
🔵

Blind Date with a Book* Swap @ Anna Blume - special event (*not people dating)
You've seen them in the book shop. You've seen them in the library. You've seen them online.
**The Blind Date with a Book.**
Those shelves of wrapped books with little teasers written on them.
This is the book trend perfect for Valentine's, and perfect for a swapping group like us!
For this special event, please bring a wrapped book. On the front please write:
* the language of the book
* a few short bullet points about the book. Get as creative (or not) as you like, as long as it's a truthful description. I've seen fascinating paragraph versions and also one liners.
* For example: "You will love this book if you love -similar author / general genre / band-singer the book reminded you of / actor who played the lead in the film / etc-". Other examples include writing the first line of the book. Or your favorite line of the book.
Beside that, it's just similarly structured as the "classical" bookswap:
* We put the book(s) we brought down on the tables.
* Each book gets a post-it so people interested would write their names on.
* We browse and discuss the books with one another while sipping coffee or hot chocolate, or eating cake. THIS TIME try to avoid naming the book and author.
* We write our names down on any books we’d like to take home.
* At the end of the evening, negotiate any books that are contended and take a new-to-you book home!
I've mostly only seen the trend at book stores and Libraries and when I just Googled it, saw that a lot of people are totally tricking the wrapping out. Please don't bother going that far unless it would give you great pleasure.
We'll have some newspaper / paper bags on hand if you don't have any wrapping.
***NOTE - this is NOT a person dating event.***
We tried that once as a very optional part of the event and it wasn't fair to the three confused people who were looking for people and not books.
We know of at least one book swap marriage and several other book swap relationships so it happens organically without us pushing for it and making it all awkward :)
Similar to our pleasant swapping post-it format, our expectations below apply to this event as well.
We look forward to swapping with you!
GROUP EXPECTATIONS for PLEASANT SWAPPING
* Please bring a book! It's not that you bring one you take one, but do try your best to bring something.
* Books stay on the tables, open for sharing, until you are ready to leave so that everyone can have a look. We are notably not first come first serve. Please wait until you are leaving to bag the book.
* If two or more people want the only copy of a book, negotiate. Maybe one of you reads it first and then gives it to the others. Or perhaps they have found another book instead. Or leave it to fate and toss a coin. The best part: now you have found somebody whose taste you can really admire. In any case, please don't walk away with a book with several names on it without letting the others know.
These negotiations are fun and easy, so don't shy away from a book because there's already a name on it, and feel free to put your name on as many books as you find interesting. It's not that you bring one you take one; you may take as many as you can negotiate.
* Political discussions with consent: make sure the people you are talking to would like to have a political discussion with you.
* Please respect this space as first and foremost a community for connecting readers over their love of books and reading, stories, and narratives of all sorts. Please be respectful of tastes and opinions.
* If something is bothering you, please reach out to the organizers, and we'll do our best to resolve it.
* Lastly, don't expect your book back. It will find a new home. If you love it, let it go.
**Major LANGUAGES (and genres) of this meetup:** English, German, French, Spanish, Italian; Fiction, Non-Fiction, Serious Reading, Light Fun, “classics", Krimis, Booker winners, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Self-Help and more. You never know who can read what languages, and there's no accounting for taste.
We are a delightful and international group of readers.
We look forward to swapping with you!

Productive Sunday Morning - Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all work welcome)
Hey everyone!
I’m organising a co-working + socialising session for all of us who like to work on something (e.g. our own project, freelance or remote work) but don't feel like sitting alone at home. 🙂
To ensure that we have both **socialising** AND **working**, we will be using the so called “Pomodoro” technique:
**50min of deep work** (silent), followed by **10min of break** to socialise. Then repeat! If you get into flow, you're also welcome to skip the breaks.
It’s an effective way to stay focused - you can read more about it [here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomodoro_Technique).
Anyone from any background is welcome, whatever project you are working on or whatever is your personal background.
I (the host) speak English and German, so either is fine :-)
——————————————————-
AGENDA:
* **15min Intro**
* Get to know everyone, talk about what you will work on today
* **Pomodoro Session** (3x) - *Each Pomodoro session consists* *of...*
* ...**50min** of uninterrupted “deep work” (no talking, no interruptions, no phones)
* ...**10min** of break: share your progress with others, talk about what you are stuck on etc.
* Repeat
* Conclude and celebrate your progress
Share your progress, socialise and get to know others 😊
————
We'll be at the Social Hub Berlin (they have a food menu in case you get hungry). The structured part will end at 2:30pm, but you're welcome to stay longer, go for lunch together, or leave earlier. See you there 🩵
**\*\*We'll reserve the long table. Please update your RSVP in advance if you can't attend!\*\***
Cyc… no, wait… - Outlook to season 2026
**This is a cross post from this main event:**
**[https://www.meetup.com/berlin-cycling/events/313284671/](https://www.meetup.com/berlin-cycling/events/313284671/)**
Since the winter dormancy passes by quicker than you can blink I want to gather recommendation and/or wishes for tours to be cycled this year.
If you ever wanted to go to that special place or have lovely memories of a lake or a restaurant (a big plus) but don't know how to go there or don't want to go alone this is YOUR chance.
Come and join us and share your ideas, your preferred places and/or your routes.
And: this time there is no seat limit! We just may have to switch location in case we're too many. If that's the case I will announce it here Friday night.
FYI: If that isn't clear enough: This event is meant to be a discussion and not a "one way sharing of my preferred routes". 😁

Wednesday evening Mindfulness at Unity of Gaithersburg.
Mindfulness Meditation group practice every Wednesday evening at Unity of Gaithersburg.
Mindfulness practice is not about achieving some special state of mind; it is more about noticing the experience you are having without trying to change it.
This interesting video suggests why you might sit and watch your mind wander off.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmmBF8eTl18
This noticing tends to shift your nervous system from a 'fight-or-flight' state to a more relaxed and receptive state. In this receptive mental state, you begin to see your own experience differently and, over time, see other people and the world differently.
Also, it is good for you: "the effect of regular meditation on the cortex was so profound that fifty-year-old meditators had a prefrontal cortex that looked like that of a twenty-five-year-old"
Here is an interesting and funny take on meditation by Ajahn Brahm:
If you arrive on time, there will be an introduction at the beginning, if you arrive late, find a chair and join us. There will be some discussion after.
This is a free event, but contributions to the church's expenses are welcome.
You can just show up this Wednesday or subsequent Wednesdays.

Think: **calm, warm, easy, friendly, real.**
Not romantic. Not forced. Just a space where people talk, laugh, and feel human again on a day that can feel heavy.
**And if a natural connection happens — great.**
If not, you still walk away lighter than you came.
**✅ Space is limited to keep the room comfortable and conversational.** RSVP if you’d like to join this small-group Valentine’s gathering.
