When Roadmaps Break: Product Leadership in the Real World
You plan your roadmap carefully, but then reality happens. As early-year sales escalations and market signals disrupt your strategy, this meetup explores how to embrace uncertainty rather than resist it. We will focus on adopting a โverify, donโt assumeโ mindset and shifting your leadership goal from preventing change to reducing the cost of change. You will learn how to detect strategic risks and respond with a clear decision protocol. Youโll also learn how to build the continuous feedback loop and cultural foundations needed to keep your product process resilient throughout the year. Walk away with practical frameworks for leading teams and sustaining a healthy product engine when roadmaps inevitably break.
**Agenda:**
* 18:30 - Assembling: Food, drinks & schmoozing!
* 19:00 โ Tal Laufer, Product Leader "The beauty of a broken roadmap - why do roadmaps break, or when they should be"
* 19:15 - Q&A #1
* 19:20 โ Asaf Frenkel, Product Growth Lead @ Check Point "When the Q1 Roadmap Breaks: A Product Leader's Incident Response Plan"
* 19:35 - Q&A #2
* 19:40 โ Haim Ben Ami, CEO @ Craft.io - "Building the Feedback Loop: How to Nurture a Healthy Product Process"

1JennyFan's General Gaming Meetup!
Both primary COVID-19 vaccinations are REQUIRED to enter. No vax, no entry. No exceptions. Please preferably share your vaccine status in the #vaccine channel on our Discord, either via https://vase.vdh.virginia.gov/vdhapps/f?p=545:1 or photograph of your vaccine card. If you're not comfortable sharing your status online, you can also physically bring your card. Attendees come at their own risk.
In terms of setup, I have a TV for videos and general gaming, a monitor in a different room for smaller games, let's plays, and streaming, and a projector in the loft for movies and larger games requiring more space like Dance Dance Revolution, Just Dance, and Guitar Hero/Rock Band. For consoles I have PlayStations 2 through 4 plus a PS TV, Wii/Wii U, Switch, and PC. I often move my consoles around (either for let's play or streaming purposes or to bring them other places), so if you can't find what you're looking for just ask. I don't own any XBox consoles but you're welcome to bring yours if you'd like! Extra consoles, controllers, games, and screens are always welcome; just let me know in advance if you're able so we can plan for it. :) My game & console/controller list is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/11LvIAgla39HtYpx9PLf6AaVj7DI3i7ypox8qSj23SCo/edit?usp=drivesdk
When you arrive please park in a space that does NOT have a number; if those aren't available we have lots of open street parking within the Penderbrook community (I'm right in the middle so either side is cool; parking on Center Way or the middle of Penderbrook Drive is best) but please don't park on a yellow curb or you might be towed! You'll want to turn onto Golf RIDGE, and then onto Golf TEE where I'm the first house on the left. When you enter walk all the way up and to the right; look for the Super Mario Bros. doormat. I'm about 10 driving minutes from the Vienna/Fairfax metro station.
We usually go out for dinner at around 5 PM; I live a short drive away from lots of shopping centers including Fair Oaks Mall, Pender, Fairfax Shopping/Towne Center, Fair Lakes Promenade, Fair Lakes Center, and Fairfax Corner.
Here's a list of restaurants in the area by food type: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Mn6ytvuaaGaBlpVT-9pBSh8fv6X8_V9wzl4eQKYzRT0/edit?usp=sharing
And by shopping center location! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DZe-ZY5_hKk9SaCSfyjh2eZLNHXTFQLC0QAW12AnYto/edit?usp=sharing
Please follow the group's rules & guidelines below:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PS-UUkkFQ1JDaMp7pCTSGMu2Rqm58X7srdCzhN0Y-xA/edit?usp=drivesdk
I also have a few more guidelines, but they're pretty easy to follow:
Gaming equipment are not toys. Please be responsible with other people's controllers, consoles, games, furniture, etc. Accidents happen, but if you continuously break things you won't be allowed to use people's equipment.
Try and keep a positive atmosphere. A lot of people attend the group to escape from their daily lives. Don't feel like you need to leave your problems at the door, everyone needs to vent once in a while, but please attempt to not do so the whole meetup. We're here to have fun after all, so try and keep it that way! <3
Learn & Play Go-Stop, a Korean Card Game
**FOR BEGINNERS**
If you've ever seen Korean movies or K-dramas, you may have seen some characters play with small red cards decorated with flowers and animals. Those cards are called "hwatu" or flower cards. The most popular game played with hwatu is "Go-Stop".
Come to the inaugural meeting of Hwatu Hangout, and learn how to play this awesome game. It can take some time to orient yourself with the cards and rules, but once you do, there's no turning back. It's major fun.
**FOR EXPERIENCED PLAYERS**
No Tazza-style deck rigging or hand chopping. Most importantly, no gambling. We may play with plastic chips to raise the faux stakes, but that's it! If you'd like to skip the lesson/demo, then please arrive at 2p for game play.
**THE PLAN**
**1:00p - 1:30p**: Learn how to play
**1:30p - 2:00p**: Demo Game
**2:00p - 4:00p**: Game play
Before attending, please complete [this interest form](https://forms.gle/BNyZuZSZBzmDKQNA7). I will bring some hwatu decks, but please bring a deck if you have one.
Questions? Send an email to hwatuhangout (at) gmail (dot) com
Hope to see you there!

Trivia Night By Geeks Who Drink at Hashtag!
Every Wednesday and Saturday! There will be prizes and fun, and even drinks!
Retro/Modern Video Gaming Meetup
Here we go again!
Normal details follow:
Vaccine verification will be made via either presentation of your Vaccine card at the door, or a photo of the updated card posted to the vaccine channel of the group Discord.
Masks are now optional.
Our setup, as it's currently configured, should allow for even better social distancing than we had before, with the secondary gaming area in a completely different room.
Dinner will be either order in, or carry out, brought back to the house.
We've got a decently sized collection of systems ranging from the old 8-16 bit days, on through to all the current systems, including the PS5, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, Ouya, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, PC, Nvidia Shield TV, Evercade VS, and even an Amiga 1200, as well as a decent number of controllers. Please bring any Wii U pro, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, or PS4 controllers you have though, as we could use those, and any games that people might bring would also be welcome. We have a second and third screen with classic consoles and a spare PS4, and have some streaming from our PC, thanks to our Steam Link. We also have an arcade cab, filled to the brim with games! It's also got HDMI inputs. If you have a system you would like to bring along, please do so! Here's hoping to see you all here!!!
