Moonlight Cinema: Hamnet (Outdoor Movie Night)
Moonlight Cinema: Hamnet (Outdoor Movie Night)
Join me for a relaxed weekday evening at **Moonlight Cinema Melbourne**, watching ***Hamnet*** under the stars on the Central Lawn at the **Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne**. This is a low-key social catch-up rather than a “sit-in-silence” movie mission. Come solo, bring a book for the wait, or just sprawl on the grass and chat before the film starts. **The movie: *Hamnet*** A quiet, poetic adaptation inspired by Maggie O’Farrell’s novel, set in the world of Shakespeare’s family. Expect something reflective rather than blockbuster-y. Watch the trailer here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYcgQMxQwmk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYcgQMxQwmk) **Plan** * 7:00 pm — Meet up & quick introductions * 7:15 pm — Walk in and find a good lawn spot * 7:30 pm — Settle in, chat, and snacks * 8:30 pm — Movie starts * The movie runs for approximately 2 hours and 5 minutes, so expect to wrap up around 10:35 pm. **Tickets** You’ll need your own ticket for this session. You can purchase it from here [https://melbourne.moonlight.com.au/program](https://melbourne.moonlight.com.au/program). I got my tickets for **$26.25** which includes booking fees. The ticket I purchased was "Cinebuzz Member Price - Moonlight Admission - General" **What to Bring** Moonlight Cinema is picnic-friendly: * Rug / picnic blanket (very recommended) * Warm layers — it *will* get cool after dark * Snacks or takeaway (BYO food is allowed) * If bringing chairs, low-back chairs only (no tall camping chairs) * A torch Food and drinks are also available for purchase inside if you don’t feel like packing. For full venue details, see the Moonlight Cinema FAQs: [https://melbourne.moonlight.com.au/faq](https://melbourne.moonlight.com.au/faq) **Meeting point:** [7-Eleven (187 Domain Rd, South Yarra)](https://maps.app.goo.gl/NSDHDUj6gwgsF5pf8) at **7pm**. I’ll post a photo of myself here once I arrive. We’ll start walking together towards the gate around **7:15 pm**. If you’re running late, please message me your ETA beforehand — once you arrive, I can share our lawn seating spot with you.

These rides are generally based off the Arlington Loop where we will visit different area coffee shops or bakeries for a cup and/or treat if desired. This ride is not on the Arlington loop -- it starts at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, winds through Vienna, winds its way through Tysons, Odricks Corner, & Wolf Trap. We will visit historic sites (churches, schools, cemeteries, houses, etc) and stop for an explanation of each. It is a 17.6 mile medium level ridden at a social pace (11-13 mph). There are more streets and hills than our usual rides, but we try to use as much of the trails as possible.
