SAMANTHA HARVEY - Umlaufbahnen

Kon-Tiki Comedy Tuesday
**Kon-Tiki Comedy Tuesday!**
Zurich's longest standing weekly Comedy Night : English Standup at Kon-Tiki Bar since 2018!
**Tickets :** [https://shorturl.at/fgjmM](https://shorturl.at/fgjmM)
Kon-Tiki Comedy has long become a staple of Tuesday Nights in Zurich! Veterans, regulars, amateurs & newbies from all around the world show up to make people laugh. This Comedy Open Mic is regularly Hosted by Ahmet Bilge.
Kon-Tiki Comedy is the place for English Standup in central Zurich. Come join & laugh with us!
**Early Show starts at 19:30 pm**
**Frequently Asked Questions:**
\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-
**Q: Is the show in English?**
A: YES. Kon-Tiki Comedy is always in English.
**Q: What's the difference of a Comedy Open Mic from a regular Comedy Show?**
A: Anybody who wants can go on stage at a Comedy Open Mic. A bunch of Comedians will be there, but they will be trying out jokes, because this is how Comedians find out if something is funny or not, so you get to be there at the birthplace of jokes. Often Comedy Open Mics are more casual & but also funny as well!
**Q: Can I perform Comedy also?**
A: Yes of course! Just contact theamericanstandupshow@gmail.com if you're interested in performing. Or directly go to the event page on facebook & write "SPOT" inside the event discussion. You'll be confirmed later & will get 5minutes to start off with. Anybody can sign up!
**Q: What about these seats?**
A : We have enough seats for everyone but the first come first served rule applies! Especially since Kon-Tiki Comedy is popular, often it is packed inside, so come early for good seats. What's early? Anything before 19:00 & you will have your seat of choice.
**Q : What about the late show?**
Depending on the turnout a late show is also available most of the time, please check the ticket page to see if there is a late show option. Basically if you can buy tickets to the late show, it's happening, if it's not an option for a ticket it's not! Both shows might be consolidated into one if there's not enough ticket sold for the late show. In this case you will recieve an e-mail telling you so.
**Q : Can I refund my ticket?**
There are no refunds allowed because it becomes too much work for a simple Comedy Open Mic, so only buy your ticket if you know you're for sure going to be able to make it. But if for some reason you can't make it, you are welcome to use your ticket for any future Kon-Tiki Comedy Shows. Just write an e-mail to exchange.
**Q : Can I buy tickets at the door?**
No please don't. Technically we can but it complicates everything, so just buy them online. Just to persuade you NOT to ask to buy at the door: Tickets at the door are 15.-CHF. Please buy online : )
**Q: Will it be funny?**
A : You betcha. You can't do a regular show since 2018 & not be funny.
**Any other questions:**
Email: theamericanstandupshow@gmail.com with the title "Kon-Tiki Comedy"
But if it's any of the questions covered by the FAQ above, I will still answer it, *but first I will insult you.*
**Legal Disclaimer:** Comedians may film their sets as well as the audience during the comedy show. By buying a ticket you consent to being filmed in this public space. If you ever have a problem with any clip published online you are very welcome to contact us & ask to have it removed, we are happy to accomodate you. Thank you for your understanding.

Building a Culture of Performance / Same Same but Different DevSecOps
Two exciting topics, two very experienced speakers and much networking opportunity. We are very much looking forward to the next DevOps Meetup Zurich.
Here's what's planned for the evening:
17:30 - 18:00 - Arrival and first drinks
18:00 - 18:45 - Building a Culture of Performance in Organizations by Josef Mayrhofer
18:45 - 19:30 - Same Same But Different : New DevSecOps by Kevin S Perera
19:30 - 20:30 - Networking, Open Space & More drinks
**Building a Culture of Performance in Organizations**
In a world where user experience distinguishes success from failure, organizations are increasingly concerned about how they can attract and retain more users. When digitized products experience performance issues, the stakes are high because engagement rates and sales drop significantly. Today, organizations still waste significant money due to application performance issues. They sprint from one performance failure to the next while technical debt grows. In this presentation, Josef will address pitfalls and successful strategies to transform organizations into performance-first enterprises. After overcoming some challenges that hinder businesses from sharing responsibility for performance, he will present a success story about how performance became part of a major European bank’s DNA.
**Josef Mayrhofer**
Josef is the founder of Performetriks, a global company specializing in performance engineering and cybersecurity that helps organizations achieve their performance and security goals. With over 20 years of experience optimizing mission-critical systems, Josef has built a reputation as a trusted expert at the crossroads of performance and cybersecurity. He holds a patent and is a speaker at international conferences, where he shares insights on digital performance, cyber resilience, and AI-driven observability. Additionally, Josef is a doctoral candidate at The George Washington University. His research focuses on improving the performance of Fast Flux botnet detection using deep learning. Driven by innovation and purpose, Josef believes that performance goes beyond speed; it encompasses culture, resilience, and ongoing improvement. His work continues to motivate organizations worldwide to make observability the foundation of digital excellence.
**Same Same But Different : New DevSecOps**
Is the prevalence of GenAI an opportunity for DevSecOps to shift left further than we ever imagined?
We are fluid in automation for deployment, test, track & measure.
We are seeing an acceleration in design & prototyping.
And yet we remain critically sensitive to the parts of the SDLC that sit to the left, the requirements that direct our development vector.
So how much further can DevSecOps shift left? And should it?
**Kevin S Perera**
Part Strategist, Part Architect, Part Planner, Part Builder, Fluent in Automation.
Kevin is a hybrid techie, remarkably good at disruptive transformation and general troublemaking across any industry.

**WHY?** we ❤️ **uniting people** and building **community** while having **fun!** We truly believe that **fun meaningful offline connections** to new & existing friends makes us truly happy and healthy! Our community meets **every 2 Fridays** in a **homey,** caring and **welcoming** "come as you are" environment !
.
**WHAT is this event?** We are not a "party or drinks" meetup, nor we follow a "forced" process and agenda. Instead, we are a **Connection Community** inspired by Greek village cafes and Swiss Stammtisch — a welcoming environment where neighbours gathered as equals to share stories and build lasting friendships. We meet in a "**fixed-rhythm**" every 2 Fridays in a **homey** & **lovingly-hosted space** so you can connect with new and familiar faces. We provide **several optional activities** to help you **connect** with others—so you're free to **explore what resonates** with you! Together these activities create a unique **Connection** **Event.**
.
**HOW? Today's activities** are:
* **🥳new comer area** (never was easier to spark a conversation, with ice-breakers, optional for first time attendees)
* **🤣fun social games** (like "cards against humanity" and more - read game names below)
* **🧘mindful games** (no small talk, connect deeper, from [The School of Life](https://www.theschooloflife.com/shop/?_product_type=games-card-sets) \- read game names below\)
* **👯 20:00 - 20:30 Speed-friending** (glass room on ground floor) guaranteed process to meet spark new fun discussions and meet new people - with moderator)
* **🙀 20:30 - 21:00** **Team Versus Team Playful games** (glass room on ground floor) to stop being so serious, stop adulthood and be silly !
* **🕺 22:00 - 00:00** **Dance Party** (glass room on ground floor) lets dance the week away with reggaeton & hits
* 🏭 beautiful **homey** industrial location in downtown ZH
* 🇩🇪**German-speaking** area (falls du nur Deutsch sprechen möchtest)
* **🏠 chill-zones** in private quiet rooms (if you want to talk or play games in quietness)
* 👬 or simply **hang-out** and **meet new & old friends** **without** a process ❤️
.
.
.
**TIPS on how to connect:**
* **Look out for a good smile/vibe** in a person/group of 2-3 people and say "Hi my name is xxx, can I join?".
* **Try something different** (person, game, table, activity) often until you find **fun** **quality connection.** We have a lot of activities
* **Ask** **Support:** we understand going out to meet friends can be a stretch. We make this easy with a fun and safe event. Also you can ask for help from our clearly communicated (see photos of this event) "**People Connectors**" who can help you discreetly to connect with others
* **Invest time**(not quickly just come by) as friendships are an investment
* **Come back**: big turnaround, people come randomly at each event, so you never know who you ll meet
.
.
**.**
**Some final words:**
* **Bravo** **to you** for the courage to go out to meet new people! We know **everyone is unique** \- thats why we got a big new\-comer area\, 4 co\-hosts welcoming and connecting you\, and many activities for you to **choose** from to find what **suits you**!
* **Weather?** Event takes place rain or shine, with indoors rooms and outdoors area that is ultra rain-protected
* **Coming late?** no problem, we got many people until closing at 00:00 so come whenever!
* **Too many attendees?** no problem, we got the space! Also as per the "what" above: you define what makes the event meaningful for you! Furthermore, the co-organisers have one goal: to say hi and introduce you to the event and people (if you want to please ask)! Finally remember: you dont have to talk to everyone, focus in a few people! Less is more! 😃 If you dont know where to start look for a good smile or an activity more matching to you. From there keep on trying people and activities..
* **Why so many options above for connection?** We always have: a first-timer area, Fun social games, Mindful games, ice-breaker questions or simply just talk freely to anyone. Often we add: Speed-friending and a Music jam. We believe **you are unique** and each of us prefers different ways of connection. Also we want to provide an opportunity for everyone to try something new
* **Easy and Safe:** We have the whole location reserved for us so its safe to open up and meet new friends (unlike bars in Zürich where people find it strange if strangers talk to them). Christos and volunteers will also help with connection. Read more info below.
* **Christos** (see [PHOTO](https://photos.app.goo.gl/pdtVaVGCyDEJ28uE8)) and our co-organisers will be wearing name budges and will aim to **welcome** **everyone.**
* more info via our **[LINKS](http://linktr.ee/connectionspace)**
* Yes YOU are **good** & **courageous** for looking for new fun connections!
* Everyone is in same situation and you ll be surprised how **friendly people** are ❤️
* Come **early** though **later** also ok as many people there **until 00:00**
* **It works**! We heard of many new friendships, living together and even getting a new job
* **Mindful Connection Games:** from [The School of Life](https://www.theschooloflife.com/shop/?_product_type=games-card-sets) available: Confessions Game, The Friendship Game, Connection Game, The Loser Game, Games for grown-ups and three sets of "100 questions" (Conversation Toolkit & Careers & Relationships)
* **Fun Social Games:** bring your own **board/card games** or choose from: Cards against humanity, Exploding Kittens, Codenames, Debatable, Sotally Tober, Taboo, Mafia, Uno, Monopoly and more.

Deal or Disaster: The 5-Minute Investment Evaluation System
This training is designed for real estate agents who want to learn how to play the Agent Investor game. The goal of this training is to help you flip your income into ownership.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
**Investors move fast. Most agents don’t.**
If you can’t evaluate a deal quickly and confidently, you lose credibility—and the opportunity disappears.
Deal or Disaster teaches a simple, repeatable framework to determine in minutes whether a deal prints money or burns it.
In this session, you’ll learn a 5-minute investment evaluation system that works across flips, rentals, BRRRRs, wholetails, and creative deals.
The goal isn’t perfection—it’s speed, clarity, and credibility.
We’ll break down:
* How to identify the investor’s true goal before running numbers
* A fast, reliable method to estimate ARV with confidence
* How to calculate the real all-in acquisition cost
* Simple heuristics to ballpark rehab and improvement costs
* The key metrics that reveal whether a deal works—or should be killed
You’ll also learn the most common red flags that signal bad deals, thin margins, and hidden risk, so you know when to pause or walk away.
When you can analyze deals in minutes, you earn authority, build trust, and become indispensable to investors.
Speed creates opportunity—and opportunity creates repeat business.
If you want to move from real estate generalist to trusted investment strategist, this session gives you the framework to do it.

Maximize cashflow with midterm rentals
Learn how homeowners and real estate investors are using mid-term furnished rentals to earn higher rental income with fewer turnovers than short-term rentals and more flexibility than traditional long-term leases.
This seminar covers how to rent your house to traveling professionals, relocating families, insurance placements, and corporate tenants. We’ll break down pricing strategies, tenant demand, furnishing basics, lease structure, insurance considerations, and local rules you need to know.
Whether you’re a homeowner with an extra property, an investor looking for better cash flow, or someone moving away from Airbnb, this session will give you a clear, practical framework to get started.
Ideal for homeowners, small investors, and anyone interested in flexible rental income, furnished rentals, or corporate housing strategies.

Native Plant Book Club: Animal, Vegetable, Miracle
Join our partners Watermark Woods Native Plants, Loudoun County Public Library (LCPL), and Birch Tree Bookstore for the Read! Plant! Grow! Book Club, which focuses on native plants, sponsored by Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy and LCPL. At this meeting we’ll discuss the book Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver. Both memoir and journalistic investigation, this book explores how the Kingsolver family took on a new challenge: to spend a year on a locally -produced diet, paying close attention to the provenance of all they consume. Concerned about the environmental, social, and physical costs of American food culture, they hoped to recover what Kingsolver considers our nation’’s lost appreciation for farms and the natural processes of food production.
You can either buy the book from Birch Tree Bookstore or contact Allison Forbes at [Allison.forbes@loudoun.gov](mailto:Allison.forbes@loudoun.gov) to borrow a copy of the book at the library. There are two ways to participate: attend the event online via the library website or [sign up to participate in person at Birch Tree Bookstore](https://www.birchtreebookstore.com/event-details/read-plant-grow-2026-02-24-18-30).
