Ich freue mich, schon bald mit dir zu zeichnen.* EN Drink coffee and take a look inside the roastery at the same time - that's what you can do at Vicafe in Werkstadt Zürich. And if you're not particularly interested in coffee, you can also have a look around the other halls of the former SBB Werkstätte and pull out your sketchbook wherever you feel like it. Once again, I haven't made a reservation in the café, we'll just see where there's room spontaneously. W'll meet at 2 pm inside the Coffeeshop. *As always, bring your own sketchbook, pens and if you have, a small stool. Everyone is welcome who likes to draw and enjoys sharing their drawing(s) at the end with everybody. I look forward to seeing you soon.*

ZH3 Hash # 1698: Old Farts' Birthday Hash
ZH3 Hash # 1698: Old Farts' Birthday Hash
Hares are Dr. Nob and Saddam. This is a codeshare hash with WSH3, in an unhashed area between Zürich, Winterthur and Schaffhausen. Prepare for a long day. Expect a fairly long and hilly A to A trail, with some shiggy and hopefully snow. There is a big marked short cut for people weaker or more decrepit than the hares. Circle and on after at the pub, including a set by Dr. Nob's band, The Bourbon Myths. And making a return appearance to a hash event, Mirjam, James and Dr. NOB will start the evening with some tunes from the last century. 14:00 start, bag drop in a car (Dacia Jogger). The pub is open from 16:00. They will make Thai food for us. There's a charge of CHF 5 for participating, which covers all you can drink beer/cider (and non-alcoholic alternatives) plus snacks afterwards. **All Welcome:** If you are new, curious, and want to get out of the house, stretch your legs, talk shit, enjoy a drink, and hopefully a laugh, then here's what you need to know: • We are a social running/walking group, physical fitness is not required, but a sense of humour is useful. • The aim is to find the '*Beer Stop*' at the end of the '*trail*' and have fun. • The '*Hare*', which changes each event (along with location), cleverly lays the trail (typically with flour marks) so that everyone reaches the end at the same time. • There is always a place to deposit your bag and sometimes a place to change. • **After Trail**, we group for \~20-40 minutes for drinks, snacks, and some fun. This '*Circle*' is typically outside, so leave something warm in your bag in winter (and bring a flashlight when it's dark). If you don't want to stand around drinking afterwards, you can head home. We occasionally all go to a restaurant afterwards. **Why bother leaving your warm & dry sofa?** If you enjoy getting outside, being around people, and doing something a bit different, you will probably enjoy hashing. Exercise is important, and this is probably the least boring way to get it. 'Hashing' and the idea of some physical activity to work up a thirst, have been around for almost 90 years and there are groups (*Hashes*) in most major cities. Its humor and 'traditions' can be explored on the internet - **or you can just come along and find out.** *See you there.* We are of many nationalities, all ages, full of misfits and idiots (at least there is no one taking themselves seriously!) and always welcome newbies 'Virgin Hashers' and visitors from other groups. hike ending with the Lichtfestival of Lucern
hike ending with the Lichtfestival of Lucern
**Walk description:** The hike starts in front of the bus stop Schwarzenberg LU, Ennenmatt at 8:42. Then we walk to Luzern. Then we can see the illumination (see paragraph Lichtfestival ) You need to be fit and have good hiking shoes. [von Schwarzenberg nach Luzern | Wanderung | Komoot](https://www.komoot.com/de-de/tour/2737915842?share_token=aO07U0uw4szwpJv29htR3J0BFJsYKwQQ6Wrm4JVM7jHvrIW4lZ&ref=wtd) I know this is a long hike but it is not the most difficult hike. Furthermore there are some obvious shortcuts if you are not sure to be able to make it. For instance between 2 and 3 or 1 and 4 (look at the map to understand what I am speaking about). Or you can decide to join only for the Lichtfestival. In this case, please say it in the WhatsApp group. **About the Lichtfestival :** [Lilu Lichtfestival Luzern](https://lichtfestivalluzern.ch/rundgang/) We already have a lot to do with everything that is free but if you think something requiring a ticket can be worth don't hesitate to mention it in the whatsapp group. **How to go with the train (from Zurich and I will meet you on the way):** [Verbindungen Zürich HB nach Schwarzenberg LU, Ennenmatt | Das Online-Portal der SBB für Fahrplan, Zug und ÖV](https://www.sbb.ch/de?stops=%5B%7B%22value%22:%228503000%22,%22label%22:%22Z%C3%BCrich+HB%22,%22type%22:%22ID%22%7D,%7B%22value%22:%228508678%22,%22label%22:%22Schwarzenberg+LU,+Ennenmatt%22,%22type%22:%22ID%22%7D%5D&date=%222026-01-17%22&time=%2206:48%22&moment=%22DEPARTURE%22&selected_trip=0) **dedicated whatapp group** [WhatsApp-Gruppeneinladung](https://chat.whatsapp.com/GNtOMhaRwAeDnShipPsuBy) **Registration:** To sign up, please select "Yes" in the WhatsApp community survey for this activity: [🌄 Switzerland Discovery Crew (Preferred Ages 18-35)🌄 | WhatsApp-Kanal](https://www.whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaoercY1XquRrJm58k3V) If the event will happen in more than 30 days, I haven't added the survey in the channel yet. (Because message in a WhatsApp channel can be read by a new member only 30 days before he joins. But you can already enter the corresponding WhatsApp group) If you are concerned about privacy, only the admin of a WhatsApp channel can see who has voted in a poll (unlike a WhatsApp group). Please sign up only when you are certain! You can also register through Meetup, as it helps build momentum; however, I rely only on the number of people who signed up through the WhatsApp survey.

BreadBreakers One-Meeting Book Club: Of Mice and Men
**BreadBreakers is a community where people of all different belief systems and backgrounds can create community - and what better way to do that than reading together?** Join us as we combine the kind, curious, and welcoming atmosphere of a BreadBreakers dinner with the thought-provoking, fun format of a book club. Here's what to expect: * We'll be reading *Of Mice and Men*, by John Steinbeck. * This will be a one-meeting club, so if you've ever wanted to do a book club but couldn't commit to multiple meetings, here's your opportunity! * Snacks :) * BreadBreakers ground rules apply - we'll lead with curiosity, converse with kindness, and strive to dig beneath the surface level. * We'll be gathering in Meeting Room 1 at the Reston Regional Library. * Participants will be responsible for obtaining their own copies of the book. [Here's the Amazon link, if helpful.](https://www.amazon.com/Mice-Men-John-Steinbeck/dp/0140177396) * Our BreadBreakers table hosts will come ready with questions and facilitation skills - you come ready to discuss! **I've never attended a BreadBreakers event before - what is BreadBreakers?** BreadBreakers is a community where neighbors from all different beliefs and backgrounds can **hear, be heard, and know one another.** Most frequently, we do this through the ancient practice of breaking bread around a common dining table. But we're more than just a discussion group - we're a movement to heal our world's broken discourse and forge togetherness in a time of isolation and loneliness. **Through the sacred act of just "being" together, we're working to rebuild the town square, one table (or book club) at a time.** BreadBreakers is a religiously inclusive by Restoration United Methodist Church in Reston, VA. All faiths, beliefs, and stripes are welcomed, and our leadership and community include people who attend Restoration and people who don't.
