Brew Monday - Walk & Co-Working
Brew Monday - Walk & Co-Working
Instead of Blue Monday, we fully support Samaritans 2026, Brew Monday. To kick start the JavaScript & Sip 2026 schedule, we encourage you to come along and socialise, whether you choose to do so for a walk, coffee or some co-working, everyone is welcome. I will host a walk starting from Canary Wharf Station (Elizabeth Line) on Adam's Plaza Bridge, but if it is easier, please meet Joulie at Yummzy for 12:15 pm. At 12:30 pm we will set off along Upper Bank Street to Jubilee Park. A little walk around and through the park, past Middle Dock, along to West India Dock Pier. Walk along the Thames until we reach West Ferry Circus, over to West India Quay and around the North Dock, back through Canary Wharf roof top, then homeward bound via Cabot Square and into Yummzy Cafe. Circa 4km and we will go at a slow conversational pace. For those who would rather simply meet for a coffee or some co-working. We should be back in the cafe from 1:30/45 pm, where you can enjoy brilliant conversation about anything software, tech or even catch up about what's on your mind and socialise. We can continue until you need to shoot off or up until around 6 pm, when your working day should be nearing an end. Don't worry, you don't need to be in a job currently, if you are working, looking for a role, or someone to collaborate with in a start-up or personal project, come along. On behalf of Joulie (Founder of Yummzy, a big thank you for hosting this event too) and myself, I hope you are able to attend and would love to see as many of you as possible. Please feel welcome to bring a friend with you if this is your first event and for anyone wanting to know more about Samaritans and Brew Monday, please check out the information below: ***On Brew Monday, the third Monday in January, Samaritans reminds everyone to reach out for a cuppa and a catch-up with the people you care about.*** ***Today’s the day. The day you put the kettle on. The day small talk turns into big talk. The day you break open the biscuits and the taboos.*** ***The day you remind everyone how good human connection feels. How easy it is. And what a difference it can make.*** ***Let’s prevent suicide with a cuppa and a catch-up this Brew Monday. Because for many, tomorrow’s too late.*** [Brew Monday 2026 | #BrewMonday |There's always time for a cuppa and a catch-up](https://www.samaritans.org/support-us/campaign/brew-monday/)
Fiction Feedback Workshop
Fiction Feedback Workshop
In our regular feedback workshops, we have three writers sharing a sample of their writing for immediate feedback, advice and encouragement. Critique is led and moderated by your host. You learn more by listening to the writing of others and the feedback their piece receives on the night than you can imagine. We've been running these sessions since 2010 and there's a reason they fill up so fast! For reading samples, pieces must be **3,500 words or less** as you'll have about 45mins for reading and discussion on your excerpt from around the table. Most people bring an excerpt from their novel or a short story of all genres and styles. You must have booked your place before making a request to read. If you'd like to read, book your seat first and post a comment below with ***'I'd like to read'*** and I will confirm. It's a first request, first reading system so do check if there have been three requests made already. If this one has no reading spots left, you might like to book early for the next upcoming session. Reading spots go FAST but there are always more to come. That said, we don't allow the same people usually to share work in consecutive sessions. If you are reading, **please bring enough printed copies (at least 10)** of your pages so members can make additional feedback/editing notes for you during the reading. All copies will be returned to you after the feedback has concluded. New members are always welcome in these groups. Most people come along to a few sessions before offering feedback, commenting or requesting to read but it's up to you. If you want to read right away, great, but if you want to come along and see how we roll first, that makes sense too. Again, you'll be surprised by how much you can learn from others by listening to the pieces and their feedback. Most sessions have 50/50 split on new members vs regulars. After the workshop, most of us head to the bar for a social drink or two and extended conversation about the joys and woes of writing. **TICKETS:** £18.00 for venue arrangements, organising and hosting. Please follow the steps to pay via PayPal when you RSVP. **PLEASE NOTE:** **Refunds or credits will only be provided if the meetup is cancelled or rescheduled.** We cannot offer refunds or credit for another session if you decide not to attend on the day. Please change your RSVP if you no longer plan to attend. We often have people on the waiting list and we'd hate for others to miss out. Failing to show up means you'll be flagged as a 'no show' and potentially removed from the group if this happens frequently. It takes only a minute to change your RSVP before the meeting starts. Manners cost nothing, folks. Location: **Williamsons Tavern** is located in a tiny courtyard off Bow Lane in Cheapside, closest tube station is Bank. Address: 1 Groveland Ct, London EC4M 9EH. Grab a drink and come to the private room downstairs. We start promptly so please try and be on time. Try the official Meetup app to receive last-minute updates and notifications about our events as they happen to your phone. [Download it now](https://www.meetup.com/apps/). These workshops are hosted by me - Lisa Goll, Boss Lady at London Writers' Cafe - I'm a publishing professional with more than twenty years of working within the publishing industry. Added to that, I've been leading LWC workshops for writers since 2010 too. See more about [me on LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/lisagoll/) or Insta me @LisasShare @LondonWritersCafe Question? London Founders Referral & Partnership Meetup
London Founders Referral & Partnership Meetup
This event is for people with registered UK companies ONLY Welcome to Joiner, a weekly meetup for B2B founders, freelancers, and operators who want to build partnerships and referrals through better conversations, not bigger rooms. This is not a traditional networking event. There is no pitching and no random mingling. Joiner events are designed to help founders form relationships that lead to real partnerships and referrals. ### How the evening works We start with a short welcome and a brief overview of what we’ve learned about scaling through partnerships and referrals. From there, we organise the room into small, highly relevant group conversations based on shared Ideal Client Profiles. These are shaped around things like: * Target decision maker * Target industry * Company size * Business stage This helps ensure the conversations you have are relevant and useful, rather than random. After the structured portion, there is relaxed time to continue conversations, make introductions, and follow up with people you want to explore partnerships or referrals with. ### What most people leave with We aim for everyone to leave with at least one of the following: * A potential partnership * A collaboration opportunity * A warm introduction * Or a clearer framework for scaling referrals in their business ### The tone of the event Everyone is here for the same reason: to find partnerships that can help them grow. We keep things focused, practical, and human. No pitching. No pressure. No forced networking. Just thoughtful conversations with people who understand what you do and who you serve. ### Who this event is for * B2B founders * Freelancers * Operators If your business grows through partnerships or referrals, or you want it to, this is the right room to be in. ### Venue Central London venue with a relaxed setting and space for conversation. Details will be shared with registered attendees. Grab a drink, join a table, and meet people who make sense for your business. **Spots are limited. Please register in advance and follow the group to stay updated on future sessions.** **We’ve launched a Directory of UK-based B2B founders actively looking for partnerships and referrals - you can sign up for FREE for a limited time through the link below.** **If you join, you can complete our short Compatibility Form before the event to help us curate more relevant conversations and, where possible, facilitate bespoke 1-to-1 introductions on the night.** **👉 Explore the Directory & complete the form here:** **https://joiner.circle.so/join?invitation_token=a0aa7e677b0fb8bd6a498d4843bed1b11d14a0d1-5925bd99-79f9-4aa1-a294-cb63492ee9d9**

Be prepared to tell everyone about your business in about 30 seconds or less. We want to know what you do but have to keep it short so we can complete the meeting's agenda, we want to honor your time! • 30 second elevator speech? What do I say?! Etc...) Who you would like to meet in the room or in the area (so we can refer you business :-) ) Keep it short and sweet, there will be plenty of time after and before the meeting to get to know other people in the group and even opportunities to schedule "one to one/1:2:1" meetings. We love to grab our coffee and go out to a spot in the lobby afterwards in one on ones to discuss how we can work together, get to know each other, get business done! So plan a little extra time to meet if need be.
