L’objectiu és aconseguir una visió específica sobre la *història i l’evolució urbana de la ciutat*. This one-hour Tuk Tuk tour is a fun and easy way to get a feel for Barcelona, especially if it’s your first time in the city. We meet right in front of the Sagrada Família. El Ballet Estatal de Hessen ens presenta tres coreografies: *Midnight Raga*, de Marco Goecke, una peça que parteix de la música índia de Ravi Shankar creada especialment per a dos ballarins que interpreten l’inequívoc i nerviós llenguatge de moviments de Goecke. Continuarem amb *Bouffées,* de Leïla Ka, una reescenificació de la producció independent de la coreògrafa francesa. Aquesta guardonada obra creada el 2022 retrata cinc dones atrapades a les urpes del dolor. Alineats amb vestits de flors, els cinc cossos creen una cacofonia física i sonora, entrellaçant respiracions, gestos recurrents i un ritme en què cauen i es tornen a aixecar. I per últim *I am afraid to forget your smile,* un treball dels germans holandesos Imre i Marne van Opstal, estrelles emergents de l’escena europea de la dansa; aquesta peça per a sis ballarins presenta la veu i el moviment treballant en tàndem i en oposició, acompanyats de música coral. El Ballet Estatal de Hessen és la companyia de dansa que comparteixen el Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden i el Staatstheater Darmstadt. Doncs us fem cinc cèntims del nostre pla de diumenge! *A part de menjar calçots que farem?* Doncs, com sempre, agafarem el nostre autocar privat i ens n’anirem direcció a Valls! Peró la primera parada que farem serà per fer una visita molt interessant a… **ALCOVER!** Perqué amb les noies de Km0, les nostres guies locals d’aquesta zona, podrem gaudir de la ***“Ruta Bandolera d’Alcover. Personatges de llegenda o malvats?”*** Amb la **Ruta Bandolera d’Alcover** descobrirem una etapa d’esplendor i riquesa al poble. Però també la seva cara més fosca: **una autèntica màfia instaurada a Catalunya des del s. XVI.** Nyerros, Cadells, Morells i Voltors…*bandolers que prenien el que volien amb força i sang*. El fet bandoler no és únic d’Alcover, però: *com i per què es van instal·lar a la vila?* *Us agradaria saber on acaba la realitat i comença el mite*? Farem un tomb per la història del poble a l’època renaixentista, passant pels punts patrimonials més destacats del nucli antic d’Alcover. Posarem llum a les ombres del bandolerisme català. Anem a descobrir aquesta història desconeguda d’Alcover! *Ep pinta molt bé! No? Pero desprès on dinem?* Envoltada de conreus, a peus de la Serra de Miramar, s’hi pot trobar **la Masia del Pla**, i es allí a on desplaçarem per gaudir d’una autentica calçotada tradicional! **Una calçotada a Valls**, representa endinsar-se en la comprensió de l’esperit de la nostra terra. **La calçotada** és una lliçó exemplar que defineix clarament i precisa la manera de ser dels catalans. **La calçotada vallenca**, tot i agermanant l’agricultura i la gastronomia, ha entrat ja en el camp de l’alimentació i de la cultura. People have watched Victor Frankenstein give life to his monster in numerous films, on television, and on stage, and even perform “Putting on the Ritz” with him thanks to the comic genius of Mel Brooks. Mary Shelley did not just tell a tale. She spawned the modern genre of speculative fiction and gave rise to a myth that would crop up in debates over nature versus nurture and other matters. Even today it stokes anxieties over the potential impacts of robotics, artificial intelligence, and genetic engineering, by evoking the image of a monster turning on its progenitor. Come gain a new appreciation of Mary Shelley’s creation with the help of Dr. Bernard Welt, who has studied the relationship between nightmares and the horror genre and is the author of *Mythomania: Fantasies, Fables, and Sheer Lies in Contemporary American Popular Art.* Dr. Welt will start by telling a literary origin story almost as famous as Frankenstein itself, of how an 18-year-old Shelley started writing *Frankenstein* in 1816 while staying in a villa on Lake Geneva with two of her era’s leading poets, Lord Byron and Percy Bysshe Shelley, her lover. Housebound by foul weather, the three read Gothic tales of ghosts and monsters and challenged each other to produce something even more terrifying. Mary dreamed up a story of a man who defied death by creating a living being out of scraps of deceased men harvested from graveyards and anatomy labs. The resulting novel, *Frankenstein*, published anonymously in 1818, would by that century’s end become a touchstone in philosophical discourse on the nature of humanity and in political discussions of imperialism and populism. By the 21st century, Mary Shelley (as she became) had earned a more significant place in the literary canon than Byron and her husband Shelley. We will examine how this grisly tale became a landmark of modern thought and look at the part played by numerous film adaptations from the first years of cinema to the present day.
