Pencils & Chords - Wanderlust String Quartet - Drawing with Music
Where music meets the sketch pad.
Step into a world where classical melodies inspire live drawing. At Pencils and Chords, you’ll sketch in real time to evocative melodies, pin your finished pieces to the Art Wall, and compete for a special award.
Wanderlust is an international string quartet formed by four musicians whose artistic paths cross borders and cultures. Bringing together performers from Venezuela, South Korea, Italy, and Germany, the ensemble is united by a shared curiosity for sound, form, and expressive freedom.
For this special evening, Wanderlust presents a program dedicated to French chamber music, exploring contrast, color, and transformation through three distinctive voices:
* Jean Françaix – String Quartet (1938), playful, transparent, and full of wit.
* Darius Milhaud – String Quartet No. 12, driven by rhythm, clarity, and modern energy.
* César Franck – String Quartet in D major, expansive and luminous, built on cyclical form and deep lyricism.
From sparkling elegance to bold modernism and late-Romantic intensity, the program unfolds as a continuous journey — inviting the audience into a space of close listening and shared presence, where music becomes texture, movement, and dialogue.

***FAQ: Why does it cost money if I bring my own project?***
Because we rent a beautiful, central space for every event. Ever thought your monthly apartment rent was too high? Well, multiply that – that’s what commercial spaces in big cities like Berlin cost *per hour*.
Of course, if all you want is just some quiet time, your home or a library is perfect. But if you’d like to focus & connect with others in an inspiring space – with drinks, snacks included – that’s what your ticket helps to cover.

#1 social writing club – Kreuzberg · Tempelhof (DE)
**Come together. Write. Support each other.**
Alles darf, nichts muss.

SU&W Sunday, in-person at Schöneberg
Hello fellow writers,
This is our Sunday meet-up at café Peppe.
Come along, grab a coffee, shut up, and write!
There will be two sessions of writing, each lasting 45 minutes, and two breaks.
\- The first writing session will start at 10:45 am\.
\- Second session will start at 11:45 am\.
PS: We have limited space of 18 peoples. Please sign up accordingly.
See you all on Sunday.
SU&W In-person Mitte
Come along, grab a coffee, shut up, and write! We will do at least two sessions of each 45 minutes of writing and two breaks. We will start the first writing session at 11:15.
**For space reasons, we are limited to a certain number of attendees, so please update your RSVP if you can't come**. We often have a large waiting list, and not updating your RSVP or not showing up if you do RSVP yes means that others miss out. We also ask that if you do change your RSVP, do it with reasonable notice. Thanks! We typically take over all of the cafe, but try to share tables if you can to allow space for other customers.
If you are new, come and say hello, as we know that suddenly going quiet for 45 minutes and staring at that blank page can be intimidating when it's your first time. We have a lot of long-term regulars who will be happy to help you feel welcome.
In between sessions, we have a Telegram chat: https://t.me/joinchat/ERW3pxD5kfELGeWs9SUhjw

I WRITE – A Silent Writing Club (Just You & Your Words)
Welcome to **I WRITE**, a gentle space for anyone who wants to write—quietly, freely, and without judgement.
We are a Berlin community of writers who gather together weekly to write, talk and recharge after a long week. Some of us journal, some write novels, some do academic writing, many people come without a project in mind and see where the inspiration flow takes them. This is a space to simply show up and write, a safe place to be yourself and to release all your layers onto the paper.
There’s no set topic, no feedback circle, and no pressure. Just warm people, a calm atmosphere, and time dedicated to yourself.
🗓️ **Agenda:**
* 14:30 - 15:00 **→** 30 min arriving, optional socialising (arrive early, meet other writers)
* 15:00 - 16:00 **→** 1 hour of silent writing (headphones welcome, focus encouraged)
* 16:00–16:30 **→** 30 mins break + optional chat or solo time (stay and chat or go celebrate the rest of your Saturday)
* 16:30–17:30 → 1 more hour of silent writing (for those staying)
* 17:30–18:00 → 30 mins of chat, and leaving
🎒 **Bring:**
* Something to write with (laptop, notebook, phone, typewriter… anything goes)
* Something to drink (there is no cafeteria, unfortunately)
* Your current project or a blank page
* Yourself, exactly as you are
**👉 Responsibility:**
* Our location is limited; thus, I am kindly asking you to RSVP only if you are willing to attend.
**📍Location:**
* We meet at **Heinrich Schulz Library in Charlottenburg**. In the library, go look for the Gruppenraum; I will be waiting for you there. Any trouble finding the room, I will come to meet you outside.
* 🚇 U7 **Richard-Wagner-Platz**
* 🚌 M45 Bus **U Richard-Wagner-Platz**
**About me:**
Hi, my name is Anastasia. I started this writing club back in May 2025. Since then, it has been hosted weekly at the Heinrich Schulz Library (who is kind enough to allow us to use this room for free). Over this time, I’ve been privileged to meet some of the most creative and kind minds in Berlin. And I would be happy if you joined us. Whether you're an experienced writer or just at the beginning of your journey, you're welcome. If you know how to hold a pen or how to type, there will always be a space for you.
Let's write together!
Screenwriting Focus Group | Filmmakers & Movie Nerds
**🎬 Screenwriters' Meetup Invitation 🎬**
This meetup is for anyone passionate about storytelling—whether you’re a screenwriter, filmmaker, producer, or someone with a great idea looking for the right collaborators. Whether you’re just starting out or deep into your screenplay, this is the perfect space to create, collaborate, and refine your work.
**When You Bring Your Screenplay, Think About Three Key Ingredients:**
1. **Your Main Character** – Who are they? What drives them?
2. **The Central Conflict** – What’s at stake? What’s standing in their way?
3. **The Theme** – What’s the deeper idea that motivates you to tell this story?
If you’re struggling to find a theme, define your character, or establish a strong conflict—don’t worry. That’s exactly what this meetup is for. We’re here to help you uncover the core of your story and give you the tools to develop it further.
Already have an elaborate story? Great! Reflect on these elements:
* **Compelling Characters** – Are they layered, dynamic, and memorable?
* **Inner Conflicts, Interpersonal Tensions, and Global Stakes** – Does your story operate on multiple levels?
* **A Strong, Personal Theme** – Does your theme resonate with you and give your story purpose?
If you can identify these elements, we can dive even deeper and give you focused, constructive feedback to help your screenplay reach its full potential.
Bring your ideas, your drafts, and your passion. Let’s collaborate, challenge each other, and create stories that matter. We can’t wait to see you there!

Make Your MAGIC Happen
**Fuck Normal, I Want Magic**
Hi gang, I started this group some time ago, but then didn't have the energetic capacity to make things happen. But, I'm still dreaming and creating a MAGIC life for myself, and I hope you are too.
I'd love to kick this group into action with a *Sunday café gathering for dreamers, doers & quiet rebels.*
What if you didn’t have to choose between dreaming and doing?
This Sunday, we’re gathering in a cozy café for two hours of real connection, honest conversation, and gentle momentum toward the life you actually want.
This is a space for people who feel a little (or a lot) allergic to “normal” — and who sense there’s something more they want to create, live, or become… even if it’s not fully clear yet.
**What we’ll do:**
* Meet & connect with like-minded humans
* Share dreams, ideas, and what’s currently alive for you
* Take intentional time to *actively work on* your dreams (writing, thinking, mapping, exploring)
* Open the floor for reflections, feedback, or support from the group — if you want it
There’s no pressure to have it all figured out. You can come curious, messy, inspired, tired, excited — all of you is welcome.
**This is for you if:**
* You crave deeper conversations than small talk
* You have ideas, visions, or longings you want to explore out loud
* You want gentle accountability and collective energy
* You want magic *and* grounded action
**What this is not:**
* A networking event
* A workshop where someone talks at you
* A hustle or productivity push
Just humans, coffee, dreams, and a little collective alchemy.
Bring a notebook, an open mind, and whatever dream has been quietly nagging you to give it some time.
💫 Free to attend
☕ Café details: 1love4 Ku'damm Coffeeshop
Kurfürstendamm 104 10711 Berlin
Can’t wait to meet you.
p.s. I'm taking steps to launch my own podcast, so this is the dream I'll be working on on Sunday.

**BOOK DESCRIPTION:**
***Who will inherit this new Earth?***
The last remnants of the human race left a dying Earth, desperate to find a new home among the stars. Following in the footsteps of their ancestors, they discover the greatest treasure of the past age—a world terraformed and prepared for human life.
But all is not right in this new Eden. In the long years since the planet was abandoned, the work of its architects has borne disastrous fruit. The planet is not waiting for them, pristine and unoccupied. New masters have turned it from a refuge into mankind's worst nightmare.
Now two civilizations are on a collision course, both testing the boundaries of what they will do to survive. As the fate of humanity hangs in the balance, who are the true heirs of this new Earth?
*\*Since missing one of these meetups is taking a spot away from someone else who wants to go, we'll need to have a stricter attendance policy than normal. For book discussions, 3 no-shows in a rolling 3-month period will prohibit you from attending any other book discussion for 2 months after your last no-show. In order to avoid a no-show, please update your RSVP no later than 10pm two nights before a discussion. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation! If you need to drop off because of Covid symptoms or exposure or a positive test or any other illness, there will be no penalty to no-showing or dropping late.*

Led by a professional in the industry, we'll discuss upcoming events in Montgomery County, some upcoming conventions, and local open mics that are available for you to participate in.
$5 donation asked to provide for food and supplies so we don't have to worry about going to a cafe or restaurant, but still have a great time. Expect coffee, pastries, and other cafe-like snacks, as well as writing supplies, goodies, and other things to do. Host will use all funds towards the group.
Novices and seasoned writers welcome. Just come and make community.
