Join us every Sunday and tell a story as a group by playing a beginner-friendly roleplaying game. Every week we have 2-3 different games - you will choose which game you play on the day. Join us at our weekly Balfolk dancing session in the backroom of The Cobblestone from 4:00 to 7:00pm! 💃 Learn folk dances from many countries, meet people from all over the world and enjoy some live music at the end of the session! 🪕🎻🪗 Beginners and two-left feet people are welcome! On Sunday 19th April we shall have a walk in the Ward River Valley to Swords Castle. **Meeting Location** Swords Express bus stop on Eden Quay which is next to stop 135351 and Meaghers Pub. From O'Connell St head towards the River Liffey and when you get to the river, turn left. The bus stop is a short distance on the left hand side. The Swords Express bus takes Leap Cards (please ensure you have enough credit) and is scheduled to depart at 10:45. If it's easier for you to catch a different bus to the walk's starting point then please let the organisers know. **Route Description** From the meeting point on Eden Quay we will take the Swords Express bus to near the Windmill Lands area of Swords from there we walk through the park and along the Ward River into Swords itself to see the historic round tower of St Columba's Church, the holy well and the lovely Swords Castle. The distance is approximately 5km. There will be time to look round the castle which is free to visit. After maybe a cup of tea or a pint of beer, we will take the bus back into Dublin. Or alternatively if people wish, we could have a further walk to Malahide Station via the lovely Malahide Estuary. This is approximately a further 5.5km. Some paths can be a little muddy, but the chosen route should avoid the worst sections. If it's dry and warm enough, we'll probably have a picnic in the park. There are no shops on the walk, but there are many shops, cafés and pubs in Swords itself. \*\*\* If you wish to wander off during a break then it's probably OK but please agree with the organisers a time you'll return so we're not waiting for you \*\*\* We hope to see you there! Most walking groups would classify this as an easy walk, but having a reasonable level of fitness is recommended. 4. Why are there only a limited number of places for this event? To ensure the best possible experience for the people attending it is necessary to limit the numbers, especially as the chosen route may not be straightforward and along narrow paths. 5. Why is it necessary to book on this event if you wish to attend? This is because there are only a limited number of spaces (see point above) and to ensure the fairest allocation of spaces, we kindly request everyone to book a place. It's OK to change your mind about coming but please change your RSVP as soon as you have for someone else to take the place if they wish to. PLEASE NOTE: Walking like many outdoor activities carries an element of risk. People who take part in our meet up activities do so at their own risk and are responsible for their own actions and involvement. Join us for a cycle to the lovely village of **Enniskerry**, then back to Dublin along the scenic **Glencree**, valley, then over the **Featherbeds**,and back down in Dublin at Rathfarnham. **Level of difficulty**: 60km, 710m climbing NOTE: We will be keeping an even pace on this cycle. Here is our plan for the day. 1️⃣ We leave from Cafe Nero at 930am 2️⃣Cycle out to Eniskerry where we stop for coffee 3️⃣ Continue to Glencree, over the Featherbeds, and back to Rathfarnham 4️⃣ All going well we should be back in the city by 1:30 Please wear a helmet and bring a tube, etc, in case you get a puncture. Please note - It is every participant's responsibility to ride safely, follow the rules of the road, and come prepared with the proper equipment. **Hands in the Soil: Community Growing, Learning & Craic** This first gathering will be a relaxed mix of **hands-on garden work, shared learning, and good conversation**. It’s about getting together in a real space, doing something practical, and seeing what ideas and connections might grow from there. On the day, we’ll: * Get our **hands dirty** with some light garden work and soil prep * Do some **seed sowing** and talk about what grows well locally * **Make kombucha together** and chat about fermentation, food, and simple home practices * Share knowledge, questions, and experiences around growing food * Enjoy some **fellowship, chats, and a bit of craic** along the way.Alongside the practical side, we’ll also have an open, informal discussion about a bigger idea: * The possibility of **small community “park farms” or gardens** in underused green spaces around Dublin * What that might look like, what’s realistic, and whether others feel drawn to exploring it further There’s no pressure, no expertise required, and no expectation beyond showing up with curiosity and a willingness to pitch in. Looking for a quiet, focused space to write? Come be part of our writing group—a dedicated time just for writing alongside fellow writers in your community. No readings, no critiques, no peer-review—just you writing within a supportive atmosphere. 6pm-6:15pm: Find your seat, set up your writing station, quick intro's. 6:15pm-7:45 pm: An hour and a half of silent focused writing. 7:45pm-8pm: Quick debrief, pack and head home.
