Let’s play... Yokai Hunters Society / Mothership / [Secret Bonus Game]
Join us every Sunday and tell a story as a group by playing a beginner-friendly roleplaying game. Every week we have 2-3 different games. All materials provided and rules are explained at the start of each game, you just need to bring your imagination.
🎭 **This week's facilitators:**
* 👺 **Scott** guiding Meiji-era monster hunters through the finale of *Yokai Hunters Society*. The Society is under attack! The identities of many hunters have been leaked by a mole, and The Black Lotus have jumped on the opportunity, kidnapping or killing anyone they find. You are ones of the lucky few to remain anonymous; you must skulk your way through the streets of Kyoto and put an end to this gang of criminals once and for all. But be careful, there are reports that they now have control over the yokai themselves...
* 👽 **Axel** with another installment of the sci-fi horror game, *Mothership*. In the dark reaches of the Vagnerov Outback, at the edge of human-settled space, missing persons are a regrettable fact of life, and some remain missing despite the best efforts of government and corporate authorities, and freelance contractors such as Spinward Solutions. Will this case be any different? Will it end well or in horror? Play and find out...
* 🙊**Silvia** with a secret bonus game!

My Father's Shadow
Hi all,
I’ve never seen a Nigerian film before, so I’m jumping at the opportunity to see one now.
Please join me for **My Father’s Shadow** this **Sunday, February 8th at 4.10pm.**
Against the backdrop of the 1993 Nigerian election crisis, two young brothers, Akin and Remi, accompany their estranged father, Folarin (Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù), on a journey through the sprawling metropolis of Lagos as he tries to reclaim unpaid wages while all around them political tensions threaten to reach boiling point.
Unfolding over the course of a single day, Akinola Davies Jr’s extraordinary, semi-autobiographical debut feature explores family bonds, identity, memory, and fatherhood.
Screening is taking place in Cinema 2.I’m in F8. It’s best to be safe than sorry and book in advance.
I’ll be in the foyer from 3.45pm with my purple baseball hat.
See you all there,
Martin
🎬 Awards Season Classic: The Graduate
Join us for a big-screen screening of one of the most influential films in cinema history. The Graduate (1967), directed by Mike Nichols, didn’t just win the Academy Award for Best Director — it redefined what modern filmmaking could look like. Sharp, subversive, and quietly hilarious, it captured a generation’s unease with adulthood, conformity, and expectations, all set to an iconic Simon & Garfunkel soundtrack.
More than five decades on, it still feels fresh, bold, and uncomfortably relatable — a true awards-season heavyweight that set a new standard for storytelling and style.
📍 We’ll meet at 7:00 p.m. in the Cineworld lobby and head in together.
🎟️ My seat is F7.
See you there — popcorn optional, opinions mandatory.

The Let Go: Friday Night w/ Ann Kite [IN PERSON]
Let go of the week and welcome the weekend. Join master teacher Ann Kite **in person every Friday** at 8pm for a dynamic, deeply embodied release.
Each week, 60–75 people gather to dance together in a supportive, spirited community. Ann has held this group for years, creating a **safe space to sweat, shift, and soften** the ego’s grip so the freer, wilder, more alive part of you can come through.
Movement is for everyone, whether you’ve danced for years or are brand new. This **isn’t about performing or getting the “right” steps.** It’s about tuning into your body’s natural rhythms, finding freedom in stillness and motion, and remembering what it feels like to be fully alive.
Whether you’re seeking connection, healing, or simply a fresh perspective, you’re **welcome exactly as you are**.
Movement is the doorway. We’ll guide you the rest of the way.

Tarot Time!
***We have now resumed in-person meetups!***
We are a group of tarot practitioners and enthusiasts who are looking to practice and expand our tarot skills through both collaborative discussion and hands-on practice. Everyone is welcome regardless of skill level, even if you've never picked up a deck in your life!
Each month we'll have a topic to discuss together, and when that discussion wraps up the session is opened up to any questions people might have about tarot. We also often break up into smaller groups to practice giving readings to each other. (The giving and receiving of readings are both completely voluntary, so please don't feel pressured!)
Having a tarot deck is not required. (If you're looking for recommendations for a first deck, we'll be more than happy to help!) Some have found it helpful to bring pen and paper for notes as well.
No fee, however snacks, donations for the tea fund, and gifts of practical items for the shop (toilet paper, paper towels, etc) are always welcome.
Use of workshop space agreement at Sticks and Stones:
1. Feel free to arrange and decorate the space before your event, and make sure before you go to leave it as you found it.
2. Hot water and tea are provided by the store and you are welcome to help yourselves. We accept donations in the form of money, tea, paper products (tissues, paper towels, toilet paper) dish soap, etc, to help pay for this free service.
3. You are welcome to bring snacks and drinks to your event (no alcohol.) It is suggested that you bring any utensils and plates if needed, however we might have some available from previous donations if you forget.
4. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, in all areas of the store. Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian present to take any of the workshops/classes.
5. Sticks and Stones respects each and everyone’s spiritual path; we do not discriminate based on race, religion, sexuality, political views, etc. Please be kind and respectful with your discussions, as we have many people from all faiths entering our store during business hours.
Tarot Circle & Social Hour
Come join us, practice your tarot and oracle card reading in a safe environment while making new friends.
Bring your favorite deck(s) or a new one you’re wanting to break in and read for your peers while they practice their skills on you.
After everyone has had a reading we will go out for lunch and get to know each other better outside of tarot.
This month we will go to Voodoo Brother’s Cajun
https://www.voodoobroscajun.com/menu
**Rules**:
- You must play if you want to stay! This is not an opportunity to get a free reading. If you show up you are expected to read.
- We practice radical inclusion. Everyone of every faith is welcome. Bullying or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
- We’re all here to learn. Whether you’ve been reading for 15 minutes or for 15 years you can always learn something new. Be openminded and keep any critiques constructive.
- No one is required to attend the social hour, If you need to leave, you may do so at any time.
- Masks will not be required, but are encouraged and will be provided.
This meetup is **free** to attend, and will remain free as long as I am the organizer. Unfortunately, the cost to run these meetups has doubled since the group’s inception. If you enjoy the meetups and have the means and desire to make a small contribution toward the cost of running this group, I would be eternally grateful to you.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. See you soon!
