Indoor Rock Climbing (Urban Climb Blackburn ) - First-time to Advanced
Urban Climb Blackburn If you've never climbed before, you need to complete a brief safety induction before you climb the first time (and they'll teach you everything you need to know to be safe indoors). There are sauna facilities, bouldering cave, speed wall and sparkling water too. This group is primarily for rope climbing; top roping or lead climbing. Many members have their lead pass and equipment, but feel free to go and do some bouldering too if you like! If you arrive on time, you'll find us chatting next to the couches in the bouldering area. If you're a little late please let the staff know that you are with the Climb Victoria Meetup, they can make an announcement and someone will come and collect you and introduce you to the group. Some members may even be wearing a black shirt with our logo on it. For more information about the venue and first time waiver, please check out this link to the Urban Climb website - https://urbanclimb.com.au/locations/blackburn/ **Fees:** Fees are paid directly to Urban Climb (this is not a free event). MELBOURNE TABLE TENNIS COACHING @ MSAC
MELBOURNE TABLE TENNIS COACHING @ MSAC
The sound of the ball, the paddle in your hand – playing table tennis is simply fun. Although often wrongly disregarded by the sports fans around the world, this physical activity will keep your body, mind, and spirit extra fit. You will be attending a group session which is currently held every Monday at MSAC in Albert Park. This will give you an insight of what is involved and how we run our sessions. This particular session for you will be divided into 2 parts. The first part will involve different group activities focusing on different table tennis shots while playing with other meet up attendees. This will give you a chance to get to know each other as well as improve your table tennis skills together. The second part will involve the whole group which include both regular weekly players and meet up attendees. You will continue to do different activities as well as play matches in a fun and enjoyable way. The session will be led by myself and another highly qualified victorian state coach. Dress in comfortable clothes and runners. Balls and bats are provided but feel free to bring your own bat. $25 per person for 2 hours of training (includes table hire). Please bring cash. We don't have Eftpos. Meet us at the Table Tennis Hall and ask for Peter when you arrive. Yo do not need to check in at reception. Please send me an email to: p.tretinik@gmail.com to confirm attendance. This helps me to book enough table for a smooth session. NOTE: If this is not your first time coming to this meet up, the cost is $38 for the whole 2 hours.

Monday Climb

Hello Climbers! Just meet at the yellow sign and introduce yourself :) From there we pair up to climb. If we have an odd number of people, we can make a rotating group of 3. There is also a self-belay area if you want to get in more climbing if in a group of 3 or arriving earlier. If the event you are planning to go to only has one or 2 people on the ‘attending’ list, we encourage organising a climbing partner in advance so you can make sure you have at least one other person there to climb with! Feel free to reach out on the event wall or message a host :) Meet up will start at 6pm but if you want to start earlier you certainly can, but again you will need to organise a climbing partner in advance. New climbers are welcome, however your mandatory induction takes about 15/20mins. Harnesses, shoes and chalk bag can be hired also. Every seat offered means another hiker can join the adventure. Fewer cars, easier logistics, more fun together. Carpooling is a great way to start the day by meeting new people, sharing a few laughs, and arriving at the trail together. Drivers, your contribution makes a huge difference, and passengers, your gratitude keeps it all running smoothly. It’s simple, social, and one of the best parts of the Wilderness Seekers Victoria experience. 🚗🌿 \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- 👉 **Carpool Driver information** If you’ve got spare seats and don’t mind some company, offering a lift is one of the best ways to kick off the day 🚙💨. It makes the trip more fun, helps out fellow hikers who don’t have a car, and is an easy way to make a few friends before we even hit the trail. Plus, fewer cars means less parking stress and a smoother start for everyone. For passengers, it’s the easiest way to get to the trail, meet new people and enjoy the ride together instead of travelling alone. In our Wilderness Seekers Victoria community, many people are more than happy to help out those without cars; it’s part of what makes these days feel so welcoming and connected. ✨ Best practice: Passengers should try to secure transportation before purchasing a ticket to avoid any last-minute stress. **Important Carpooling Note** Drivers and passengers should stick with the arrangements they make. We **do not recommend swapping drivers or cars** after you’ve agreed on a ride. If you do decide to change, please make sure **all parties are clearly informed and agree** to avoid confusion. If a driver forgets, gets mixed up, or doesn’t pick you up, Wilderness Seekers Victoria (and your driver) is **not liable** for any inconvenience caused. For this reason, it is best to keep things simple with the driver you first arranged with. In the transport chat, drivers will share their preferred pick-up locations, often major CBD train stations like Parliament, Richmond, South Yarra, Southern Cross, or North Melbourne. For the **Hike on 25 January**, the nearest station to the trail is [Dandenong](https://maps.app.goo.gl/MJVQNFPH4a78LATaA?g_st=ic "https://maps.app.goo.gl/MJVQNFPH4a78LATaA?g_st=ic") / [Narre Warren](https://maps.app.goo.gl/gQXjs5x9aCDFz2qG9?g_st=ic "https://maps.app.goo.gl/gQXjs5x9aCDFz2qG9?g_st=ic"), though drivers may choose whichever spot is most convenient for them. O'Keefe Rail Trail - Easy 50km off road Bike Ride along the Wine regions of Vic
O'Keefe Rail Trail - Easy 50km off road Bike Ride along the Wine regions of Vic
Who loves bike riding? I certainly do and this is one of my favourite bike rides in central Victoria. So let's get on a train to Bendigo and get on our bikes.. *Train rides on V-line are currently free until end Jan 2026..* The O’Keefe Rail trail is a popular cycling path stretching roughly 50km between Bendigo to Heathcote. We will ride to Axedale (half way point) and turn around back to Bendigo. Built along the former rail corridor, the trail offers a smooth, mostly gentile ride suitable for beginners through to experienced cyclists. The bike ride will typically take 3 hours @ 16km/hr to complete without any stops. However, we plan to stop along wineries for some wine tasting and a couple of stops at Axedale Tavern and Farmers Arms Hotel for food and beverage (including coffees/teas). I plan to arrive back to Bendigo station at around 4-5pm where we head back to Melbourne by train. This will be a fun day out. More information can be found: [https://www.bendigo.vic.gov.au/things-do/gardens-and-natural-reserves/okeefe-rail-trail](https://www.bendigo.vic.gov.au/things-do/gardens-and-natural-reserves/okeefe-rail-trail) [https://www.railtrails.org.au/trails/okeefe-rail-trail/](https://www.railtrails.org.au/trails/okeefe-rail-trail/) *By attending, you agree to drink responsibly* **NOTE**: *Once the waitlist starts, priority will be given to members that have joined events previously*. *Join one of our hiking/running/cycling/MTB events during the year if you want priority next year!* **Type of bike:** Ideally hybrid, gravel or mountain bikes **What to bring:** * Water for the ride on the trail * Appropriate clothing if it's cold/windy/rainy/etc. * Sunscreen if it's sunny **MEETING LOCATION** Meet at KURIMU Southern Cross Station at 7:30am to catch the 7:40am Regional train to Bendigo where we get off at Bendigo Railway station at 9:55am. https://maps.app.goo.gl/iRJEEzNkGUvMYR3Z6 **LIABILITY WAVER** The organiser of this group cannot accept any liability for any loss, damage, injury or accidents to participants or their property on this event. Saturday morning hike
Saturday morning hike
Hello Hikers!! Welcome to our Saturday morning hike at 9:00 AM! Many - but not all - of our hikes originate at Great Falls Park, off Georgetown Pike. Unless you already have an appropriate pass, the park entrance fee is $20/car for a single visit or $35/car for a 12-month pass that is good for the Maryland side of the river too. Come twice and you'll save 5 bucks! For the record, all scheduled hikes will be held even when it rains, snows or is super hot or cold unless the weather is too extreme to be safe. Our standard hike is a relatively easy 1 hour plus loop hike at a moderate pace. Usually a hike-extension is offered for those wishing to add a few miles more, up to 7 miles or so total. In spite of our Meetup name, we also hike in nearby parks such as Riverbend, Scott's Run, Turkey Run, Seneca, and Billy Goat A or C on theMaryland side of the Potomac. We have also scheduled hikes in Shenandoah NP and at Sugarloaf in Maryland. Please note that phone connections can be iffy in the park so don't call you are running late, but texting may work. It's best for you to be on time as we set out pretty much on time. This 1+ hour of hiking (or more) is a great way to relax, turn off your cell phones, make new friends, and get some exercise. I hope to see you on the next hike!! Thanks Dick, Julie, and Katie P.S. We will meet at the lower parking lot. Once you pass the ranger's booth, make an immediate U-turn to the right and follow the road downhill to the parking lot. We meet by the big rock at the far end of the lot.
