And they’re extending their happy hour for our group until 8pm. AND the first dozen attendees will get a special Lunar New Year treat. 😏 They boast an elevated Chinese American menu, the only public Mahjong bar in DC, and have recently been receiving some well deserved flowers from publications like EaterDC & The Washingtonian. Their beer menu may be smaller, but it is *nothing* to sneeze at either (thoughtfully curated by our friend Alyssa). Closest metro stop is Archives- Navy Memorial, just a block away. This is a wonderful heart-opening experience. An opportunity to connect with yourself, others, and Spirit through song. Let's share this medicine in community like our ancestors have done for generations before us. No experience needed - come as you are. Song sheets provided. Those cards are called "hwatu" or flower cards. The most popular game played with hwatu is "Go-Stop". Come to this next Hwatu Hangout (Plum Blossom Edition!), and learn how to play this awesome game. It can take some time to orient yourself with the cards and rules, but once you do, there's no turning back. It's major fun. **FOR EXPERIENCED PLAYERS** No Tazza-style deck rigging or hand chopping. Most importantly, *no gambling*. We may play with plastic chips to raise the faux stakes, but that's it! Some people have expressed interest in playing in Fairfax. Lets set up another game that repeats every 2 weeks at Fairfax Town Center. Look for the group with cards somewhere in the center tables. We play alomost exclusively double deck pinochle. All levels of play are welcome from beginner to expert. We will teach and coach new players.
