Mob Programming at Mofer Coffee
Let’s do some coding together at a cafe! No more working alone in the weekend. Here, we write code together. And I mean together together. Not occupying-the-same-space-but-separate together.
Here’s how it works: Jennifer brings her mobile app project, tells everyone that it is like Pinterest for recipes and she’d like to work on the nav bar. Paul and Chloe think Jennifer's project is fascinating, and they join the group. They gather around Jennifer’s laptop and work on the nav bar for 2 hours. Jennifer is the one typing out the code while Paul and Chloe research, brainstorm, and offer suggestions.
If you’re feeling stuck on your own project or need a motivation boost, bring it to mob programming!
Want to learn by watching how others code and solve problems? Join someone else’s project at this event!
Oh and we love your half-done projects that you are a bit embarrassed to share. Absolutely bring those to the event!
**Discord**:
We use Discord to share screen & code snippets during the event. Also feel free to share your projects here before the event!
https://discord.gg/Da9fZFxPfs
**Event policy**:
* We have 0 tolerance for harassment.
* We don’t allow the projects that are not meant to be shared in public such as school assignments, interview tasks, or trade secrets.
* The goal is to write code. We discourage you from pitching business ideas here, doing code reviews, or spending the whole event on planning what to do.
* Please buy a drink, and tip the barista well.

Event Description
This is an in-person language exchange! Members are placed into groups of three or four based on their language level. Each 45 minute session consists of friendly casual conversation, and/or informal study.
Event Location: Atrium Food Court
The food court is directly connected to the Dundas subway station, although it is a bit difficult to find. Especially for those who will join our event for the first time, we recommend the following directions,
Leave the subway station and walk west for about three minutes along Dundas Street.
At the intersection of Bay Street and Dundas Street, you will find an entrance. Proceed down the escalator.
The food court is on the basement floor. Please talk to the organizer with the signboard showing TJEX. (If you can’t find them, please send a message to the organizer.)
⚠️RSVP & Late Policy
Failure to show, arriving after 5:45 PM (15 minutes late), and cancelling after 1:00 PM on the day of the event all constitute a "no-show". Members are removed from the group after their third no-show.
If you are running late, please ensure you send a message to the organizer so we can keep a spot open for you. We will rearrange the groups for members who show up on time. If you show up late without letting us know, we will no longer allow you to join so please be mindful of the time.
Waiting List:
Members can join the waiting list if an event is full. In case a spot becomes available, it will be automatically assigned to a member on the waitlist on a first-come first-serve basis.
PLEASE BE ADVISED:
Members from the “Waiting” list are moved automatically to the “Going” list by the system when a spot opens up. You may or may not get a notification from Meetup when this happens. So only sign up on the “Waiting list” for an event if you are sure you can come for it. If the system automatically puts you on the “Going” list and you don't show up to the event, you will receive a strike.

🌿 Toronto Women’s Hiking Meetup — Tommy Thompson Trail & City Skyline
This event is for women in their late 20s to 40s in Toronto who want a longer outdoor walk with open views, space, and a strong connection to the city’s waterfront nature, in the company of other women. Tommy Thompson Park offers one of the best lookout points of the Toronto skyline and feels far from the city despite being right downtown. This walk is ideal for those looking for a Toronto hiking or nature walk experience with scenery, movement, and curiosity.
**What we’ll do**
* Walk approximately 9 km, with the option to go farther if the group feels good and conditions allow
* Stop at several lookout points with clear views of Toronto’s downtown skyline
* Watch and search for wildlife sightings such as birds, bunnies, and other animals commonly seen in the park
* Share the unique history and story of Tommy Thompson Park as we walk
* After the walk, optionally head to a nearby cafe or food spot to relax and socialize
Duration: Around 2–2.5 hours of walking, plus optional cafe time after
**Why join**
This walk offers a longer outdoor experience in Toronto, combining waterfront trails, skyline views, wildlife observation, and local history. A great option for women looking for Toronto hikes, waterfront walks, or nature-based outdoor activities with a social element.
**Trail conditions & preparation**
The route is mostly paved, but we will also walk on unpaved/off-road sections
The park is open and exposed, so wind can be strong, especially closer to the lake
Dress for winter conditions and changing weather
Depending on the day, some sections may have snow or ice
Sturdy walking shoes or boots with good grip are recommended
**Disclaimer**:
This group is intended to provide a calm and enjoyable space for women to spend time outdoors together. Outdoor walking involves inherent risks, including uneven terrain, weather conditions, and the possibility of slips or falls. By joining, participants acknowledge and accept these risks and take full responsibility for their own safety and personal belongings.
The organizer is not responsible for any injuries, accidents, losses, or damages that may occur during events. Participants are responsible for dressing appropriately, wearing suitable footwear, and assessing their own physical ability to participate.
Photos may be taken during events for group memories or future promotional use. By attending, you consent to being included in these images unless you notify the organizer otherwise.

Meaningful Conversation and Morning Coffee - Northside Social Falls Church
**Join us in Falls Church for conversations that go beyond small talk.**
Higher Grounds – Falls Church is where this growing network of gatherings began: a space for thoughtful, authentic dialogue about what matters most. Whether we’re exploring the nature of happiness, the challenges and possibilities of midlife, spirituality, culture, capitalism, parenting, or the role of art and travel in a meaningful life, every conversation is shaped by the people in the room.
There’s no set leader or rigid agenda—just a shared commitment to listen as much as we speak. We start with brief introductions focused on what makes you *you* (not your LinkedIn bio), then dive straight into whatever is on people’s minds. The direction of each meetup emerges organically, making every event unique.
MANDATORY: PLEASE REVIEW OUR COMMUNITY GUIDELINES IN THE GROUP DESCRIPTION. Everyone is expected to engage in respectful conversations and listen deeply as well as share. We have a zero tolerance policy of sexual harassment and hate speech.
Come ready to share, reflect, and connect with others in Falls Church who are also seeking deeper conversations.

1. What rule for life did you create after learning something the hard way?
2. When did you stop believing that everyone else had it figured out
3. What paradox about life have you learned to live with?
NOVA Code & Coffee [160] - At FCED Venue
NOVA Code and Coffee is an inclusive, informal, co-working session. People of all skill levels are invited. The concept is simple, bring a laptop and ideas, we'll provide the coffee and donuts! Here's how it works:
1. At 10:15 everyone introduces themselves and briefly describes what brought them to Code & Coffee today (project, homework, networking, etc)
2. For the rest of the day, folks work in the communal space on their projects providing one another help and conversation as needed. Oh and they usually drink coffee and tea too!
That's it! Hope to see you there!
