Bethesda MD Walk
The weather should be good for a Tuesday evening walk of Bethesda MD. We'll meet at 6 pm outside the Medical Center Metro Station (Walter Reed Side of Rockville Pike) and walk south along Rockville Pike to Jones Bridge Road, then walk south along Maryland Avenue and Pearl Street to Montgomery Avenue, and then north again along Rockville Pike back to the Medical Center Metro Station. Total distance is about 3 miles and will take about 90 minutes.
Project Night
Join us for Python Project Night!
Project Nights are informal gatherings where attendees can bring their own projects and work together (or just next to each other). We'll have at least one experienced Python web developer on hand to help less experienced people with their projects.
We host these project nights each month in addition to our normal talk meetups.
Agenda
• 6:30-7:00pm - Arrive, eat and catch up (thank Chief (http://agencychief.com/) for the food!)
• 7:00pm-8:45pm - Coworking
What could you do at project night, you ask?
• Work on your own side projects with other people doing the same
• Get help learning Python (or Django or Flask) from more experienced developers. (Or, help mentor other attendees if you're already a whiz)
• Ask for a code review for a project you've been working on by yourself
• Talk through a particular problem with someone who has solved it before
• Just hang out and have some cool conversations!
We are cross-listing this event with DC Python, so please RSVP to only one so we can get an accurate headcount.

From Fragment to Form - An Open AI Studio
**AI-Supported Creative Exploration**
*For Unassuming Intuitives & Practicing Creatives*
(Please note that this event has not been organized or endorsed by The Writer's Center.)
This meetup is part of AI as Creative Partner — A Practice Group, a set of open, non-sequential creative labs you can join at any point.
We use AI as a thinking partner—not to replace your ideas, but to help surface and shape them without overthinking or pressure.
You bring fragments—ideas, impulses, unfinished concepts. With AI as a supportive collaborator, we explore how those fragments can become clearer, more coherent, and ready to share if and when you want to.
No technical background is required. If you can talk or type, that's enough to work with AI here.
This session is intentionally low-commitment and flexible:
* Arrive late or leave early
* Work quietly or observe
* Ask questions, or simply watch the process unfold
There's no presentation and no expectation to finish anything. Showing up as you are is enough.
**FROM FRAGMENT TO FORM - AN OPEN AI STUDIO**
Many creative ideas don't arrive as "projects." They arrive as fragments, moods, or something that won't leave you alone.
This open studio is a place to gently explore those fragments using AI as a thinking partner—without forcing clarity too soon.
You're welcome to work, observe, arrive late, or leave early. This is a calm room for unfinished ideas.
**HOW TO FIND US**
Look for the room with the door open on the lower level. Look for the guy with the screen projector and ambient light and sound. Feel free to just walk in and settle.
**(*This is an independent meetup using rental space at The Writer's Center. The Writer's Center has not organized or endorsed this event.*)**
Power Query Escape Room with John Kerski
**\*\*Please note this event is in-person only.\*\* We have limited space, please do not RSVP if you are not planning on joining us in person in D.C. at SEI.**
The villainous **Lord Taart Chart** has emerged from the shadows once again, and he’s targeting your data! In a brazen attack, he’s stolen your carefully curated data and locked it deep inside his fortified **Azure Vault**.
**Your Mission:**
You and your team must rise to the challenge, confronting Lord Taart Chart’s wicked ways by solving his **10 Power Query Puzzles**. These devious challenges will test your ability to wrangle, transform, and tame even the messiest of data.
Join us at SEI for a reprise of our most popular session from Power BI Days DC 2025, a fiendishly tricky collaborative game developed by our very own John Kerski. In March, Lord Taart Chart will hit the road for his first ever appearance on the national stage at FabCon Atlanta.

\-\-\-
We try to be punctual with our event times so please be respectful to others and show up a few minutes early. Note, we often limit the RSVPs to keep group sizes manageable. If you are on the waitlist but would really like to join, reach out to the organizer.
Our events prioritize metro accessibility by meeting and ending at metro stations. Sometimes we start/stop at the same station, sometimes we do not. Please double check the event description to see if you can manage transportation.
If you've enjoyed our walks please consider donating a few bucks to help us keep this group running (meetup is expensive!). [Donation Link](https://venmo.com/code?user_id=2158403661070336114)

Deal or Disaster: The 5-Minute Investment Evaluation System
This training is designed for real estate agents who want to learn how to play the Agent Investor game. The goal of this training is to help you flip your income into ownership.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
**Investors move fast. Most agents don’t.**
If you can’t evaluate a deal quickly and confidently, you lose credibility—and the opportunity disappears.
Deal or Disaster teaches a simple, repeatable framework to determine in minutes whether a deal prints money or burns it.
In this session, you’ll learn a 5-minute investment evaluation system that works across flips, rentals, BRRRRs, wholetails, and creative deals.
The goal isn’t perfection—it’s speed, clarity, and credibility.
We’ll break down:
* How to identify the investor’s true goal before running numbers
* A fast, reliable method to estimate ARV with confidence
* How to calculate the real all-in acquisition cost
* Simple heuristics to ballpark rehab and improvement costs
* The key metrics that reveal whether a deal works—or should be killed
You’ll also learn the most common red flags that signal bad deals, thin margins, and hidden risk, so you know when to pause or walk away.
When you can analyze deals in minutes, you earn authority, build trust, and become indispensable to investors.
Speed creates opportunity—and opportunity creates repeat business.
If you want to move from real estate generalist to trusted investment strategist, this session gives you the framework to do it.

1JennyFan's Rock Band & Rhythm Gaming Meetup!
**Both primary COVID-19 vaccinations are REQUIRED to enter. No vax, no entry. No exceptions.** Please preferably share your vaccine status in the #vaccine channel on our Discord, either via https://vase.vdh.virginia.gov/vdhapps/f?p=545:1 or photograph of your vaccine card. If you're not comfortable sharing your status online, you can also physically bring your card. Attendees come at their own risk.
Whether you've been playing since Guitar Hero 1 like me or want to try out Rock Band 4 for the first time, you're welcome at the Console Gamers Group Rock Band & Rhythm Gaming Meetup! I have a projector equipped loft for Rock Band (Beatles, 3, and 4), Guitar Hero (Warriors of Rock and Live), Dance Dance Revolution/StepMania, and Just Dance. There is also a second bedroom that can be used for games like Frequency/Amplitude, Taiko no Tatsujin, DJ Hero, Beatmania, Parappa the Rapper, Deemo, Voez, the Persona Dancing games, and more.
When you arrive please park in a space that does NOT have a number or says "Decal Parking Only"; if those aren't available there's lots of open street parking within the Penderbrook community (I'm right in the middle so either side is cool; parking on Center Way or the middle of Penderbrook Drive is best) but please don't parck on a yellow curb or you might be towed! You'll want to turn at the sign that says "The Greens" onto Golf RIDGE, and then to Golf TEE where I'm the first house on the left. When you enter walk all the way up and to the right; look for the Super Mario Bros. doormat. I'm about 10 driving minutes from the Vienna/Fairfax metro station.
We usually go out for dinner at around 5 PM; I live a short drive away from lots of shopping centers including Fair Oaks Mall, Pender, Fairfax Shopping/Towne Center, Fair Lakes Promenade, Fair Lakes Center, and Fairfax Corner.
Here's a list of restaurants in the area by food type: [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Mn6ytvuaaGaBlpVT-9pBSh8fv6X8_V9wzl4eQKYzRT0/edit?usp=sharing](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Mn6ytvuaaGaBlpVT-9pBSh8fv6X8_V9wzl4eQKYzRT0/edit?usp=sharing)

Please follow the group's rules & guidelines below:
[https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PS-UUkkFQ1JDaMp7pCTSGMu2Rqm58X7srdCzhN0Y-xA/edit?usp=drivesdk](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PS-UUkkFQ1JDaMp7pCTSGMu2Rqm58X7srdCzhN0Y-xA/edit?usp=drivesdk)
I also have two more guidelines, but they're pretty easy to follow:
1. Gaming equipment are not toys. Please be responsible with other people's controllers, consoles, games, furniture, etc. Accidents happen, but if you continuously break things you won't be allowed to use people's equipment.
2. Try and keep a positive atmosphere. A lot of people attend the group to escape from their daily lives. Don't feel like you need to leave your problems at the door, everyone needs to vent once in a while, but please attempt to not do so the whole meetup. We're here to have fun after all, so try and keep it that way! <3
Elite Networking Lunch: Elevate Your Connections
Attendance is $35 (cash, credit/debit card, or ApplePay - paid at the door), which includes water/soda/coffee, bread, choice of a plated lunch entrée, and a dessert assortment. Parking is also validated in the Reston Station garages (3 hours of validation).

Learn & Play Go-Stop, a Korean Card Game
*Thank you to everyone who came out to the inaugural meeting of Hwatu Hangout in January! It was a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to seeing you all again and hopefully some new faces as well\~* 😊
**FOR BEGINNERS**
If you've ever seen Korean movies or K-dramas, you may have seen characters play with small red cards decorated with flowers and animals. Those cards are called "hwatu" or flower cards. The most popular game played with hwatu is "Go-Stop".
Come to this next Hwatu Hangout (Plum Blossom Edition!), and learn how to play this awesome game. It can take some time to orient yourself with the cards and rules, but once you do, there's no turning back. It's major fun.
**FOR EXPERIENCED PLAYERS**
No Tazza-style deck rigging or hand chopping. Most importantly, *no gambling*. We may play with plastic chips to raise the faux stakes, but that's it! If you'd like to skip the lesson/demo, then please arrive at 2p for game play.
**THE PLAN**
* **1:00p - 1:40p**: Learn how to play
* **1:40p - 2:00p**: Demo Game
* **2:00p - 4:00p**: Game play
**THE LOCATION**
We will be meeting again at Fairfax Wegmans on the 2nd Floor. You will find the stairs past the cafe/bakery/prepared foods section to the left of the building!
**BEFORE ATTENDING**
If you haven't already, please complete [this interest form](https://forms.gle/BNyZuZSZBzmDKQNA7). I will bring some hwatu decks, but please bring a deck if you have one.
Questions? Send an email to hwatuhangout (at) gmail (dot) com
Hope to see you there!
