Als transnationales Medienereignis spiegelt er europäische Stimmungen, politische Brüche und popkulturelle Entwicklungen ebenso wie nationale Selbstinszenierungen. Für viele in der LGBTQIA+-Community ist der ESC zugleich ein zentraler Ort queerer Sichtbarkeit – und damit ein Raum von Zugehörigkeit, Repräsentation und Aushandlung. Die Ausstellung „United by Queerness“ widmet sich diesen Spannungsfeldern zwischen Vielfalt und Nationalismus, Inklusion und Ausgrenzung. Sie folgt einem dreiteiligen räumlichen Konzept – vom Wohnzimmer über die Arena bis zur Bühne – und zeigt, wie der ESC erlebt, gefeiert und politisch interpretiert wird. Qwien macht damit die queeren Dimensionen des ESC sichtbar und reflektiert ihn als popkulturelles Phänomen, das bis heute Debatten auslöst.
