**bikablo® Basic Day 1 Training** Each year, more than a thousand participants worldwide attend **bikablo® Basic Training:** a method of using simple visuals to facilitate groups and conversations. In a small group of like-minded people, Jill Greenbaum will provide individualized feedback and support to address your unique learning needs. When appropriate, we divide the learning group into teams at different levels. You’ll come to the realization that, “I can visualize – and use it in my job tomorrow!” **This training is for you if...** * you are still convinced that you are not at all talented and still would like to learn how to visualize * you have not yet participated in a visual facilitation training with us * you have a little experience with visualization so far and are looking for an easy way to improve your charts with graphics, symbols, simple figures, and good handwriting to make them more clear, attractive, and lively In this one day training, we focus on the basics of drawing and imagery in visual language: no matter your level of talent or skill, you will take your first visual steps up at the wall and learn how to use small details to make large spaces look clear, attractive, and lively. You'll be working both individually and in small groups.l will take plenty of time to answer your questions and guide you into the world of visual language with hints and techniques suited to figure individual progress. **Our areas of focus:** * Learn to hold the pen, draw clean lines, and structure your space on the flip chart * Create graphics and text containers/geometric shapes, objects and symbols * Discover the easy ways the bikablo® method provides to draw people, roles, groups, and situations * Use simple and fast options to color elements and spaces to support the graphic structure * Combine all the ingredients - graphics, writing, symbols, figures, and color - to create visual, translations of content and meaningful posters for different purposes. Many participants experience a renewed flow of creativity. By working with images and symbols in a new way, they discover a fresh, intuitive approach to expressing ideas. Voices of Mount Pleasant Toastmasters is a new faith-based club sponsored by Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Herndon which is open and all guests are welcome to attend. It is a pleasant fusion of Public Speaking and Leadership training with fun and fellowship. Opening with an invocation, the Club president provides guests the opportunity to introduce themselves to the group with a short elevator-speech and introduces the Toastmaster to lead the meeting with a theme. The General Evaluator and team are introduced to let attendees know the word of the day, the timing of speeches and evaluations, and the filler-words, which wil be counted. In the first segment of the meeting, there will be 1 or 2 prepared speeches from projects studied in the Toastmasters education program (Pathways). In the second segment of the meeting, willing attendees are selected to receive information or a question from the Table Topics Master to give a 1-2 minute impromptu speech. In the third segment of the meeting, the General Evaluator introduces the Evaluator for each prepared speech; reintroduces the Timer, the Ah-Counter, and the Grammarian for reports. Next, the General Evaluator gives a summarized review of the structure and leaders of the meeting. An Educational Moment will be given to explain the Toastmasters Educational Program (Pathways) as an introduction to new members and guests. The presiding officer will make announcements, ask visitors to the club for their impression of the meeting for feedback, ask for prayer concerns, and give a benediction to end the meeting. The group is mainly made up of members of the church who joined Toastmasters for the first time with the chartering of the club in September of 2023. So everyone is learning together and encouraging one another.

**🐍 🛢️ How To Sell Snake Oil (& Your Best Ideas)** Persuasive Speech Patterns with Dr. Ed Tori ***‼️In person at room 401-D at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, 901 G St NW, Washington, DC*** **How do you get your ideas to land?** Have you ever heard phrases like “there’s no buy-in,” “they’re resistant,” or “this group will not move.” But what if resistance is not the problem? What if the issue is the way we communicate? In this lively, participatory workshop, **Dr. Ed Tori** will introduce you to a set of practical and surprisingly playful **persuasive speech patterns** drawn from his work in influence, hypnosis, storytelling, and behavior change. You will learn how people naturally shift into more persuasive communication when pressure is removed and creativity is sparked. At the center of the experience is a hilarious improvisational game inspired by the card game Snake Oil. Participants take on imaginative roles like zombies, pirates, or kindergarteners. Others must invent and pitch made-up products on the spot. The role-play creates immediate psychological safety and unlocks natural persuasive instincts you may not realize you have. The **Reston-Herndon Toastmasters club** is the place to be if you want to improve your public speaking, communication, listening, and leadership skills in a friendly, supportive environment. By joining Toastmasters, you'll learn to relax, plan, and present great speeches, whether you have ten days to prepare or just 10 seconds. Our club meetings are held every **2nd and 4th Wednesday from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM** at Herndon Fortnightly Library located at 768 Center St, Herndon, VA 20170.
