Early Valentine | Slow Dating | Confident Women & Established Men |39–59
**We’re back! 🚀**
If you’re reading this, chances are you’re not just after small talk and swipes.
We’re not products on a dating app. There are no algorithms here, just proper hellos and a bit of good old-fashioned eye contact.
After some remodification, Slow Dating 2.0 is back after several requests! Thank you for your patience and support. It means a lot to us! 💞
If you never heard of us, no worries! We welcome new people and souls! 🐢
### **💫 Who is this event for?**
This session is thoughtfully curated for **singles aged 43–59**.
We believe romance doesn’t belong to one age group — it evolves.
With experience comes confidence, depth, emotional intelligence, and a clearer sense of what truly matters.
This is dating for people who know themselves, value meaningful conversation, and are ready for connection that feels grounded and real.
**GET YOUR TICKET HERE** 👉👉 👉**[YOUR TICKET](https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/prepare-for-valentine-slow-dating-age-43-59-collingwood-sunday-registration-1980803426370?aff=oddtdtcreator)** 👈👈👈
### **Venue Partner: Paradise Alley**
We’re taking over one of Melbourne’s most **romantically lit and character-filled bars**.
Think:
* Warm, low lighting
* Intimate lounge seating and cosy corners
* A relaxed, slightly sexy atmosphere where conversations linger
* Even a pool table in the background — casual, playful, unpretentious
Paradise Alley feels like the kind of place where time slows down, guards come down, and genuine connection feels natural — not forced. Perfect for a Slow Dating experience.
### **So how does it work?**
At slow dating events, you will have **more time AND multiple chances** to build some more connections with the ones you are interested in.
**🍹 You can claim your welcome drink when you arrive.**
**🗣 One-on-one rotations** to spark conversations with your handpicked matches.
🎴 **Conversation cards are provided if you need.**
**🤙Private matching system**—no awkward rejections on the spot :) You will be notified of your matches afterwards.
### **💞 What we focus on at Slow Dating**
👥 **Intimate experiences** — limited numbers, because quality matters more than quantity
🎟️ **Unrushed dating** — the pace is slow, but tickets tend to go fast
💬 **Real conversations** — no pressure, no performance, just presence
If you’re ready to step away from the apps and into something more human, this might just be your kind of afternoon.

### Looking for something more real than dating apps?
Meet someone you actually click with. No apps. No Swiping!
NOTE: THIS IS A TICKETED EVENT. LINK TO BUY BELOW 👇 . RSVP ON MEETUP DOESN’T GUARANTEE YOUR SPOT.
This is a curated, in-person dating experience for singles who want **genuine connection**, not endless swiping or forced small talk.
You’ll meet a small number of people through **intentional, personality-based matching**, so the conversations feel natural and the chemistry has room to build.
This is not speed dating.
This is not a loud mixer.
Unlike speed dating, this experience isn’t about racing through conversations or meeting as many people as possible.
It’s about meeting the *right* people, with enough time and structure for genuine connection to unfold.
### **How it works**
1. **Before the event**
You’ll complete a short personality quiz (5–7 minutes).
2. **At the event**

Volleyball Training and Games - Intermediate - B Level (SNHC)
Welcome to Melbourne Volleyball Academy! 🤗
**[[WHAT]]**
This session will be broken into 2 halves, 1st half is training and the 2nd half is games. Please arrive on time as we will start exactly at 5:30 PM.
Our intention is to have this training be the 'next step' after our beginner-level training at North Melbourne Community Centre.
We will be focusing on learning what specific roles on the court entail, improving 'volleyball IQ', breaking bad habits, and building better techniques.
**[[WHERE]]**
The session will be held as State Netball Hockey centre.
Please enter via the main entrance (the entrance with the larger parking lot), we will be on Court 3 & 4, please ask the person at the front desk if you need directions.
**[[WHO]]**
The training is intended for social volleyball players at the intermediate level or 'B' level (for more details on volleyball levels, please visit our site here: https://melbournevolleyballacademy.com.au/skill-levels-explained).
Players are expected to:
* pass freeballs and serve receive consistently
* have some knowledge of 5-1 (1 setter all around) or 6-2 (back row setter only) systems
* help others and have good sportsmanship
If you are a high intermediate (BB) or advanced player (A) you are more than welcome to join but you may find our open play sessions for BB/A level players more suitable.
For players that are at the beginner level, we suggest attending our training on Fridays at North Melbourne Community Centre 6-9PM as beginners may find the drills and level of play too difficult.
Players will be asked to attend a different session if their play is deemed unsafe or if they are not of the appropriate skill level.
**[[HOW MUCH]]**
$21 card payment will be collected on the day via square (EFTPOS) payment.
**[[WHEN]]**
The stadium is booked for 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM. However, feel free to come early and stretch as the stadium is open earlier.
**Last-minute dropouts and no-shows will have a zero-tolerance policy going forward.**
All players are expected to **update their RSVP at least 24 hours** in advance if they are unable to attend. This applies to players on the going list and the waitlist.
**[[THINGS TO BRING]]**
We ask that you bring:
* Water bottle
* Appropriate footwear for indoor court shoes - netball shoes, volleyball shoes, or basketball shoes would be suitable.
* Wear contacts or sports glasses if possible.
**[[OTHER DETAILS]]**
Only those on the “going” list are permitted to play. If you are on the waitlist, or not registered at all, you will not be permitted to play.

Philosophy Roundtable: Religion vs Spirituality
**PLEASE NOTE NEW LOCATION & ATTENDANCE FEE!**
Please join us this Sunday as we discuss the similarities, and difference, between Religion and Spirituality at large.
**We will meet at the Queensberry Hotel, 593 Swanston Street, Carlton (100m north of previous location) at 2pm for a 2:15pm start sharp.**
**We kindly ask attendees to pay $5 to attend to help with MeetUp costs & venue costs. This is not mandatory, but if you are a regular member it would be appreciated. Any extra moneys will go towards buying food and drinks for the table.**
There is no pre-requisite preparation necessary, nor a philosophical background, all that is required is a curious mind. These discussions are both a Socrates Cafe style discussion and lively metaphysical dojo, in the spirit of learning and friendly debate, so please feel free to challenge assumptions and be prepared to have your own assumptions challenged.
Find below some questions to consider, however these are free-ranging events and the below serve as a springboard for the discussion.
* What is the definition of Religion and Spirituality?
* What do Religion and Spirituality share, and what do they have apart?
* What does it mean to have connection and relationship with the Divine?
* What is the purpose of non-dual self realisation?
* What is the difference between Wholeness and Holiness?
* Is there a transcendent unity of religions as Perennialists suggest?
* What is "transcendence", in traditional religion and other spiritual paths?
* Are spiritual practices communion with the Divine, or communion with oneself?
* How do community centred vs individual experience spiritual paths compare?
* Is 'esoteric Christianity' a contradiction?
* Is there a relationship between modern moral ideas and Spirituality without religious structure?
* What has been the influence of the New Age spiritual movement on medicine and popular psychology?
* Is Jung complementary or a rival to historic Christianity?
* Is religion just spirituality plus outdated morality?
* Is spirituality just religion without the responsibility?
Hope to see you there!

Men's Circle - Lanternis Auria
**Welcome to Men's Circle, hosted at Sticks and Stones!**
This is a group oriented towards fostering connection between men in our local community, while also accomplishing magickal working and intentional discussion around metaphysical topics. Please read the following code of conduct for our group, and message the facilitator or call the shop and ask for Merlin for any questions.
Code of Conduct
1. We are all, in good faith, men.
Whichever way that manifests, we take it on good faith that all attendees are male identifying.
2. We respect all walks of life and spiritual practice.
We honor and respect men from every walk of life and spiritual practice. Freedom ends where it infringes on the practice of another. We do not evangelize, prostelitize, or talk down on others. There is no initiation, or universal code of spiritual conduct here.
3. What happens in Men's Circle stays in Men's Circle
By attending, you accept a sacred duty to keep the trust and faith of the other attendees, do not share or discuss anything we share in circle. *(The secret answer to the question is "Salt on the Wind")*
4. Respect the circle
Once the circle is cast, we are focusing our energy on magickal topics, and making the best use of everyone's time. With great love, we may ask you to redirect or keep a line of thought shorter or more intentional.
5. Arbitration is immediate and help-oriented
If you run into a pain point or offense in our group, please speak up immediately and let your thoughts be heard. We are here to respect and grow and support each other as a community, let us help and grow together.
**The next few weeks, we will be focusing discussion and practices around the following topic:**
What does self-love and esteem mean for men?
Step One - Talk it out!
Let's meet up at Starbucks at Northpoint Shopping Center. Sometimes the best thing is to have someone to listen to. Let's dish it all out and just be humans for a minute.
Restonish FC (Black Jersey)
Please arrive early (no later than 7:30) to stretch out and warm up.
Wear a black jersey and bring a pair of shin guards.
