### The Question of Feminism: History, Politics, Society, and Psychology Feminism addresses the historical and ongoing disadvantage of women in society. It begins with the recognition that women were long denied legal rights, political participation, economic independence, and control over their own bodies. From this starting point, feminism examines how inequality has been created and maintained through laws, institutions, social norms, knowledge production, and cultural practices—and how these structures shape everyday life and women’s internal experiences.
