LG Berlin: Social responsibility in project management
## The Local Group Berlin / Brandenburg invites you to a kick-off (in English) to âSocial responsibility in project managementâ.
Register here: https://pmi-gc.de/event/local-group-event/social-responsibilty
"Giving back" is an essential part of PMI's core values and understanding - therefore Social Responsibility (SR) is at the heart of those values. Besides the global cooperation of PMI with the United Nations on the base of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), PMI Germany Chapter has set up an SR initiative that allows PMI members directly to support NGOs / NPOs working in this context and to generate social impact. This session spans from the underlying principles to current projects and illustrates what kind of participation is possible through PMI. The icing on the cake is the matchmaking concept, which will be presented and opened for discussion.
### **Learning Objectives**
⢠Get to know the Social Responsibility Initiative of PMI Germany Chapter
⢠Identify possible opportunities to engage yourself
⢠Help shaping the Matchmaking concept to make use of the SR initiative

Responsible AI in HealthCare: Considerations and Opportunities
Our friend **Dmitri Katz**, a 10 years+ long time friend and huge supporter of **STEM4Health**, **G4A**, **Digital Health**, and every **Innovation in Healthcare**, is organizing this event. I highly recommend to attend. Please register at https://luma.com/m47avlhj.
AI is offering new opportunities to address persistent, high-impact societal challenges. In domains where social and human stakes are high, practical value will depend not only on technical performance, but on how well AI systems are aligned with ethical, institutional, and operational realities. Addressing this need requires sustained, cross-disciplinary collaboration grounded in real-world practice. To this end, **ĂTHOS Berlin** is building an interdisciplinary community of founders, researchers, practitioners, domain experts, and policymakers.
âIn this workshop, we will discuss real-world care challenges and the constraints that shape responsible AI use. Participants are invited to contribute practical perspectives.
â**What we aim to produce:**
âThe workshop will produce Challenge Briefs: short documents that describe (a) a concrete care problem, (b) its real-world impact, and (c) the key institutional, ethical, and practical constraints involved. Where it emerges naturally, the briefs may also note open directions for work, such as further research or approaches for AI implementation. The briefs will be published publicly after the event and shared as reference material for future research and innovation.
â**Workshop format (2 hours):**
* âShort, problemâfocused inputs from careâdomain experts, earlyâstage startups, and other workshop attendees.
* âSmall, mixed working groups
* âEach group drafts one brief using a simple structure:
Problem ¡ Impact ¡ Constraints ¡ Directions
* âSharing and discussion
â**Why your participation matters:**
* âHelp ensure that actual constraints shape how AI problems are defined
* âBring institutional, ethical, and operational realities into the discussion early
* âContribute to challenge definitions that shape the communityâs future focus
* âBe acknowledged as a contributing participant in this first workshop
â **What participation could involve:**
* âShare a real-world careâdomain challenge
* âContributing to the drafting group
* âBring a laptop if possible.
âThis is an ĂTHOS community initiative. Participants are welcome to share what they are working on, but the focus will remain on problem framing rather than product pitching. If you have questions or would like to help with the workshop, please let us know.
Warm Regards,
Dmitri Katz

URGENT ACTION SUMMIT 2 â âWhat is happening in Amerika?â
**URGENT ACTION SUMMIT 2** \- âWhat is happening in Amerika?â
Sat 14 Feb 15-21:00 @Baumhaus Berlin
**This is an event for those who feel a sense of urgency or desperation to get society to act in solidarity faster to address critical issues like climate change and the rise of fascism.**
15:00 doors open and open networking
16:00 interactive talk
16:30 Q & A
17:00 break and open networking
18:00 workshop - developing viral interventions
19:00 group feedback
19:30 quick pitches
20:00 open networking
22:00 end
The first Summit took place in June of 2024 and resulted in 2 teams of people who developed a short video prototype that describes the nature of these wicked problems and an online curated platform to connect a trusted network of local change makers in Berlin and beyond.
⢠video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9ml3AEzZhE
⢠platform - https://ourworld.solutions/
During this interactive talk, discussion and workshop Scott Bolden, founder of Baumhaus Berlin will build on the work from Urgent Action Summit 1 and address the questions:
1 - â**What is happening in Amerika?**â &
2 - â**What kinds of meaningful and practical responses can we come up with in Berlin that can make a positive difference?"**
The story of America is a complex one but can be broken down into a few simple fundamental concepts that explain why the state of things are the way they are today. We will explore why it makes sense that Trump and his kind have risen to power and how we can contribute to his fall by doing the things we already love to do. We will also make the connection to the common roots of authoritarianism and climate change as well as sharing strategies to address both.
Making a difference in the world doesnât have to be lonely hard work that one has to sacrifice everything for. The objective of this summit is to identify some common ground that can form the basis for a movement of authentic and resonant solidarity right here in Berlin; one that has the potential to spread. **How can we collectively have fun getting good things done?**
The ideas, connections and synergies that are shared during this event will provide a basis for developing program and interventions for the next Emergent Berlin festival happening in Fall 2026 (check out Emergent Berlin 2025). Participants are encouraged to share their findings on the Emergent Berlin instagram page use it as a living working document to help realized some of the ideas that get developed.

**About the Teachers**
This workshop is led by Lorenz von RĂśmer and StĂŠphane Piette, two passionate engineers who discovered improv together six years agoâand never looked back. Fascinated by how improv transforms communication, creativity, and confidence in both personal and professional life, theyâve been teaching and performing ever since.
With years of experience on stage and in the classroom, theyâve brought improv to audiences across Berlin and internationally, performing in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. In 2023, they founded *Check la Lage*, a monthly show that unites improvisers from different companies, and were key players, teachers, and coordinators for *Liber*, a long-standing French-German improv company in Berlin.Their approach blends technical precision with playful spontaneity, making improv accessible and impactful for everyoneâwhether youâre looking to boost your public speaking, connect more authentically, or simply have fun. Productive Sunday Morning - Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all work welcome)
Hey everyone!
Iâm organising a co-working + socialising session for all of us who like to work on something (e.g. our own project, freelance or remote work) but don't feel like sitting alone at home. đ
To ensure that we have both **socialising** AND **working**, we will be using the so called âPomodoroâ technique:
**50min of deep work** (silent), followed by **10min of break** to socialise. Then repeat! If you get into flow, you're also welcome to skip the breaks.
Itâs an effective way to stay focused - you can read more about it [here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomodoro_Technique).
Anyone from any background is welcome, whatever project you are working on or whatever is your personal background.
I (the host) speak English and German, so either is fine :-)
ââââââââââââââââââ-
AGENDA:
* **15min Intro**
* Get to know everyone, talk about what you will work on today
* **Pomodoro Session** (3x) - *Each Pomodoro session consists* *of...*
* ...**50min** of uninterrupted âdeep workâ (no talking, no interruptions, no phones)
* ...**10min** of break: share your progress with others, talk about what you are stuck on etc.
* Repeat
* Conclude and celebrate your progress
Share your progress, socialise and get to know others đ
ââââ
We'll be at the Social Hub Berlin (they have a food menu in case you get hungry). The structured part will end at 2:30pm, but you're welcome to stay longer, go for lunch together, or leave earlier. See you there đŠľ
**\*\*We'll reserve the long table. Please update your RSVP in advance if you can't attend!\*\***
Feminism: Power, Society, and Self
### The Question of Feminism: History, Politics, Society, and Psychology
Feminism addresses the historical and ongoing disadvantage of women in society. It begins with the recognition that women were long denied legal rights, political participation, economic independence, and control over their own bodies. From this starting point, feminism examines how inequality has been created and maintained through laws, institutions, social norms, knowledge production, and cultural practicesâand how these structures shape everyday life and womenâs internal experiences.
In this session, we will focus on the following topics:
1. **Historical exclusion of women from legal rights, education, political power, and economic independence**
2. **Political regulation of womenâs work, income, citizenship, and bodily autonomy**
3. **Social expectations surrounding motherhood, care work, and emotional labor**
4. **Psychological effects of gender norms, including self-confidence, ambition, guilt, and mental health**
5. **Social, medical, and political control of womenâs bodies and sexuality**
6. **Marginalization and underrepresentation of women in science, education, and cultural production**
7. **Differences in womenâs experiences shaped by class, race, migration background, disability, and age**
8. **Contemporary forms of discrimination against women in workplaces, healthcare, relationships, and public space**
This will be an open and focused conversation grounded in historical realities, political structures, social practices, psychological experience, and intersectional perspectives. Together, weâll reflect on how feminism connects material conditions, power relations, and inner livesâand why addressing all of these dimensions is essential for understanding and challenging womenâs inequality today.
