"There is nothing quite like the Australian Open under the lights! For our first official meetup, we’re heading to Melbourne Park to soak up the 'Happy Slam' atmosphere. We’re keeping it flexible with **Ground Passes**, giving us the freedom to hop between the outside courts to catch the next big upset, or settle into the big screens at Garden Square. Whether you’re a tennis tragic or just here for the Aperol Spritz and the festival vibes, you’ll fit right in. Ground pass tickets are pretty cheap at around $29 and you can get them through Ticketmaster or on the night. We are meeting up out the front of the stadium and can head in as a group.

\*\*Please note that **this event is not open for photographers** (no option to bring Camera/GoPro). Cameras and large tripods aren’t allowed due to past accidents that led to damaged cameras/lenses and injuries in the dark. We will be taking photos of people with the Stars/Aurora. Feel free to bring a small tripod if you're using your smartphone for photos. Please note that you setup the tripod away from where the group shots are done. With any Aurora Hunting events, the chance of spotting an Aurora is less than 5% as there are many factors involved. Please carry a warm jacket as it is expected to be very cold (17°C). This trip involves a shared uber/taxi besides metro train, train replacement bus, V/Line on the way there. On the way back, it will be a shared uber/taxi as trains would have stopped running. Who loves bike riding? I certainly do and this is one of my favourite bike rides in central Victoria. So let's get on a train to Bendigo and get on our bikes.. *Train rides on V-line are currently free until end Jan 2026..* The O’Keefe Rail trail is a popular cycling path stretching roughly 50km between Bendigo to Heathcote. We will ride to Axedale (half way point) and turn around back to Bendigo. Built along the former rail corridor, the trail offers a smooth, mostly gentile ride suitable for beginners through to experienced cyclists. The bike ride will typically take 3 hours @ 16km/hr to complete without any stops. However, we plan to stop along wineries for some wine tasting and a couple of stops at Axedale Tavern and Farmers Arms Hotel for food and beverage (including coffees/teas). I plan to arrive back to Bendigo station at around 4-5pm where we head back to Melbourne by train. This will be a fun day out. Once you are out on the pool deck you will be exactly where we practice. Minutes 15-30: Getting in the water, teaching any new players the basics Minutes 20-70: Scrimmage/practice. This is a pleasant 7.3 mile/ 212 foot elevation gain hike around Beaverdam Reservoir with plenty of water views. For those of you who like numbers the reservoir is 350 acres and holds between 1.3 and 1.5 billion gallons of water. We will meet in front of the Visitors Center at 8:45. The Visitor Center, with the trailhead, is new and the GPS mapping apps are still updating. **The Reservoir Park Main entrance is located within the Brambleton Community Park West Baseball field complex, accessed from Belmont Ridge Road in Ashburn.** The address is 22211 Water Vista Drive Ashburn, Virginia. The GPS coordinates are: 39.00223 N, 77.53529W. We hike at a pace of \~ 2.5 mph while moving. You must have experience with hikes of this length and elevation gain. Meet in front of the Visitor Center at 8:45am for sign-in. Restrooms are available. Dogs are welcome on this hike in accordance with the NVHC Dog Policy.
